thank you very much, i was struggling to find an improvised genre of music for piano that is't jazz and i stumbled on this video, the resources are amazing, thank you! :)
Q1 What do you think Czerny think about good improvisation. My personal answer. Czerny was a beethovenian so he expected improvisation in a wild manner and expected very impressive effect made after playing a variation (every audience also clap after each variation that because of virtuosity and flamboyance) unlike mozarteans like Hummel who performed in a very elegant organized and cantabile style. ( Which feels audience very divine and no effects made after music). What do you think reply my comment.
Thanks guys, such a relief from the fast talking hucksters youtube is pushing now or the ressussitation of the dead end of partimento as a way of selling busy work without freedom. I'm really looking forward to checking out more of your videos. If you are at all interested there is a fantasia on my channel I recorded a few weeks ago. It very much follows the model you outline at 3 mins :)
To be a good improviser you need to listen to a lot of music and attempt it by ear. This parrallells Stephen Kings advice on writing, 'your first job is to read'. Everything else can be ahem 'taught' ...
Which is weird because a lot of czerny’s student went on to be big names and successful, which to me says what he was teaching was invaluable and it would make sense to study what he teaches.
I love this, it doesn't limit - it expands.

I find it very unfortunate that people never really give Czerny a chance.

@shanebullard7995 absolutely!! There are many riches to be harvested! There is also his collection of preludes for examples!
@@Todzuum I remember being surprised finding out that Oscar Peterson was a 'grandstudent' of Czerny.
