Tell me about it, Channels like GHG and AAcomputers and technology is what made me want to enter a career in IT, Even though these channels are more for computer hobbiests
That dell brings back so much memories of my childhood, I used to play on the same exact Dell at my local internet cafe during my summer break. Absolute beast running early 2010s adobe flash and shockwave games
Thank you so much for putting my PC in the mailbox!!! I'm so happy, to have it featured on a GHG vid. 🙏❤️ absolutely love your videos, thank you for all you do!!!
Reminds me of your Lumbridge and your Core 2 Duo video back in the day. Good times. Cheers, GHG, and to many more of that goofy computer content we all know and come to love!
Oh man I watched your video's constantly back in 2016 and to be honest I had totaly forgotten about this channel untill I found it again. Your video's have the relaxing atmosphere to it that no other channel has. Keep doing what you do man, love from the netherlands ❤
man i am genuinely so happy ur back, i used to watch ur videos when I was in my 12-17 timespan, now im nearly 20 and still enjoy ur content as I did when I was 12, thank u so much, really
I had a 5150 back in the day (wow that was 10 years ago now). First computer I ever ran Linux on, many many memories with that machine. Mine had the bigger heatsink, with that front fan being visible thru the grill, I too love that design. I believe the connector is the same pinout as a normal PWM header, just with a different connector and extra n/c pin. It had a P4 HT most certainly, any more that that I could not say. 2GB DDR2 and maybe a 160GB HDD? Windows XP and then Ubuntu 12.10. I remember being stoked that it came with a FREE MONITOR, KEYBOARD, AND MOUSE! I had blown all of my 12yo self's savings on it so the freebies were a nice treat.
Tim you’re the reason I got into pc building/gaming. Before, I thought building pcs required thousands of dollars and technical skills beyond my capabilities. But you showed me that none of that was true. Thank you Tim.
Love that your uploading again. ❤ But why is this one so short? Feels like a sample of the full video. Either way keep up the awesome shit. Much love from small town in oregon!
That ATI card might be a 9700 or 9800 pro. I bought an Nvidia card for $250 that scored only 1k extra on 3dmark. I was not happy with almost zero gains.. So I paid $50 extra for the ATI card and I DOUBLED my 3d mark! a 50$ difference! Which reminds me of why I love your channel so much!
My old Dell Dimension 3000 had a P4HT. I used it for light gaming and producing music, even way back then. Such a lovely computer, I miss it. Blue screen of death if I got an audio setting wrong though.
Just picked up a dell precision 380 for free with a broken psu, threw a spare in there with an rx580 and upgraded the cpu to a pentium d 915. Rips now!
😂 Eons ago, there was a Chinese shop that had everything from $1 for 2 DVD movies to household stuff to used computers, likely refurbed e waste. I went there one day and saw an XPS with a hole through it like one of those dimensions. I obsessed over that thing for ages, I'd never seen anything like it! I don't think I even asked for the specs! I'd just go grab some movies and oggle the thing. I probably still have sketches of it somewhere 😅
Pretty sure I have that exact computer with a nvidia mx4000 just sitting collecting dust in my parents basement lol. Great machine for the original halo pc port
I got an OptiPlex GX620 with one of those CPUs in it (I believe the model 631) for xmas 2011 and that was what got me into computers and gaming. I was able to run 64-bit Ubuntu on it, though the _motherboard itself_ was otherwise hard limited to 4GB RAM. A bit easier to work on than the Dimensions, lol...
I recommend you take that Pentium 4 machine with the Soundblaster Live card and turn it into a Windows 98 computer. The Live card should have decent support for DOS games as long as you don't use the FM Synthesis emulation. A ton of those P4 boxes have Windows 98 drivers, and will work quite well. Maybe find an appropriate video card as well, and you'd be set. You'd be limited somewhat to later DOS games and less speed sensitive games in DOS, but you can play an awful lot of stuff with that hardware. Windows games like Quake would also be a breeze on a box like that.
I'm so used to motherboards with IO on the left that I was legitimately hunting for text that would confirm you horizontally flipped the video, how weird
The last time I worked as a PC tech was from 2011 - 2019 and I hate to upset you, but... The amount of Dell Dimensions we junked would be labeled a "retro tech war crime".
you've really come into a new era with this one ill be honest the last few new videos didnt feel like 100% but i can really tell you're getting everything out of this new format now, love the content, i hope you're enjoying making it.
I suppose i should send in a picture of my Dimension! Its a 9200 i picked up from a friend that had sat for over a decade. Absolutely fithy but cleaned up well, always wanted to own one and your Pentium D bottleneck video amongst the others with that machine solidified that. I wanted to call it "Dimonsterion" and slap the fastest core2quad inside with the whole idea being..2 of everything! The hotglue duo design, 2 sets of memory to max the system to 8GB, SSHD RAID and the centerpeice, a 690 GTX, with the CPU and its cooler lapped it runs cool but there are definitely some mods planned to give the northbridge a big heatsink. It barely runs modern games, Thanks to the sluggish clocks, unresponsive Q6xxx series and slow FSB limit of 1066. such a shame. Which is why i'd love to find another Dimension, strip the case, cut the IO and PCI shields, flip it so it turns into an inverted ATX layout and attempt the mad idea of shoving a dual socket ALi express xeon board inside with custom watercooling :) The Ultimate Dimonsterion with some GhG artistic inspired touches :)
There is an OEM brand that actually made little stake board USB sticks ! Sold in FR supermarkets. Probably the goofiest idea ever to put important files on something you want to ride on every part of your desk
I have a spare fan. I'm just afraid it'll cost some $50 bucks to ship it😬 I still have my super overhauled 5150 converted to a E510 with Core 2 Quad support😁
Is there something special about the Dell Dimension 5100 with Pentium 4 HT? I've got one that I was going to try to get rid of by giving to a thrift store or something, should I reconsider?
Errrm guys, you dontt buy these for performance 😆 43€ is not a good value for performance, it has a sentimental value, i bought my dad HP with i7 2600 for 80€ and i bet you can find them even cheaper in wealthy European countries like yours, since we in Serbia import these company PCs from Germany, France, Sweden yes...
Man I remember watching your videos in about 2016, I loved your format for content. Really glad you are making more. Ready for the GHG comeback!
Tell me about it, Channels like GHG and AAcomputers and technology is what made me want to enter a career in IT, Even though these channels are more for computer hobbiests

Good for you mate!!!
I feel like the only reason I upgrade my current hardware is so I can watch vids about retro hardware as smooth as possible
Reminds me of your Lumbridge and your Core 2 Duo video back in the day.

Wille is a baller for booking it that quick in the snow 😂 Great video!
When you live with it for about 24 years you get used to it 😄
Thank you for putting me in the mailbox!!!
Sorry for submitting so many pictures 😅
great stuff keep it coming. I had that dell with the big emboss great computer love that green plastic feels so nostalgic
A lot of channels are dedicated to 90s era hardware which is cool but I’ve always loved 2000s era hardware the most.
Nothing brightens up my day more than a GHG upload with Pentiums!
Can hardly believe you're so back 😊
Love the hodge podge jerryrigging when about to start it up. Keep tinkering
glad to see some old pentium 4 machines getting some love.
Same.
This is a really chill video, im loving the new vibes of the channel
So weird to see you here in Sweden. Hope the winter is treating you well!
Love that your uploading again. ❤ But why is this one so short? Feels like a sample of the full video. Either way keep up the awesome shit. Much love from small town in oregon!
This is the content I like to see in my feed.

Hi Guys, interesting Episode and great to hear your thoughts as well as testing etc. Cheers Peter
Experiments etc.
Good old P4 630, my dimension 9100 I got in 2016 had one of these in it, wasn't too bad to use back then.
Yes! (Reminds me of that time i drove to the other side of Bathurst to get one.)
Crysis here we come!
I love my Dell Dimension, I upgraded the Pentium 4 to a Pentium D 960 and slapped a 8600 GT in there for the ultimate pre 2009 retro gaming experience
very violent game there Tim
Great work Tim and thanks! There is my setup :D
RUclips ain’t putting this in my feed but it’ll soon 🙌🙌
L4D is timeless.
The first pc i bought was a Pentium 4 HT and it was a beast it, handled anything i could throw at it. Quality chip

My old Dell Dimension 3000 had a P4HT. I used it for light gaming and producing music, even way back then. Such a lovely computer, I miss it. Blue screen of death if I got an audio setting wrong though.

These Dells usually have blown/bulged caps near the CPU socket beneath the green plastic heat exhaust. Replace those ASAP.
love your content.
This is awesome
It's been snowing the whole time in Germany 😅
Same here in the states or at least in Northen Ohio.
Cries in East Coast USA snow storm.
Hi from Canada!
Hey, I think I had a very similar model when I was a kid. It had a Pentium D though. Lasted a good while until the GPU gave out.
Pretty sure I have that exact computer with a nvidia mx4000 just sitting collecting dust in my parents basement lol. Great machine for the original halo pc port

Epic. Not bad for £40.
Nice to see a VAIO from Christian G in the mailbox 😇
So happy to see you back and making cosy tech videos again! 🫶
New vid yes sir!
I'm so used to motherboards with IO on the left that I was legitimately hunting for text that would confirm you horizontally flipped the video, how weird
I would be one of those old school dvd os guys for something this.
Good video
The last time I worked as a PC tech was from 2011 - 2019 and I hate to upset you, but... The amount of Dell Dimensions we junked would be labeled a "retro tech war crime".
RUclips got me back there, hello guys sorry for missing
i got a similar style Dell Dimension tower but with a Pentium D and the original windows vista install still on it haha.
See you again whenever you wish to upload another video.
you've really come into a new era with this one ill be honest the last few new videos didnt feel like 100% but i can really tell you're getting everything out of this new format now, love the content, i hope you're enjoying making it.

I have a spare fan. I'm just afraid it'll cost some $50 bucks to ship it😬
I still have my super overhauled 5150 converted to a E510 with Core 2 Quad support😁
Been here since like 2015?
Is there something special about the Dell Dimension 5100 with Pentium 4 HT? I've got one that I was going to try to get rid of by giving to a thrift store or something, should I reconsider?
Is this the IPhone X at the intro? Great design.
Heck yeah, early again!
