As the 'Ville de Vanier', I first came across this ship tied-up to the Hull Wharf below Alexandra Bridge about 1980, and at the time I wondered about its origin thinking it looked like an old lumber barge that would have been common in the area during the late 19th-century or early 20th-century, so learning it was built as recently as 1959 came as quite a surprise, especially since my own birth date was 1960.
