      I prefer writing alone, but I understand that getting that feedback does fill in what could be doubts or uncertainty about the writing. I've learned that receiving feedback is growth, as stated in the video, helps better one's writing. One day, I'd love to join the Writing for Animation for that. Thanks for these insightful interviews/videos.

    For so long I used to think I HAD to do it all myself, or I didn’t “earn” it… even though I love stories where characters like that learn to work together with a team.. ironic yea? Anyway I’m working on changing that :)😊

    "Writing can be a lonely job" -- No it can't. Writing is not a job. Just flat-out it's not employment. If you have fun with it as a hobby, cool, enjoy, but it's not something you can actually apply for and get hired to do, and then take home a monthly paycheck as a result of.

    During college, peers would constantly steal my concepts and ideas, so I have a really hard time collaborating. Did anyone else struggle with this, and is there a solution?

      Concepts and ideas have no value. They are not scarce and it's easy to produce them instantly with no effort. If you find it difficult to come up with novel concepts, you should "steal" them from others -- they won't care at all for the aforementioned reason.

      @@tuckvison This could sound pretentious, but it would be like if you made a hit melody for a song, and someone walked by and stole it. Sure you could make more melodies, but crafting great melodies still require a lot of effort and talent to develop. In that sense I feel like concepts and ideas DO have value.

      @@craftypantspro3894 I'm a music producer so I can tell you outright that melodies fundamentally have no value. I invite you to "steal" any melody from any song I've ever written.
      The value and beauty in a song is in the coalescence of its parts' execution. A song is A times B times C times D times E times F times G times H etc. If you steal D then congratulations, you've stolen D.
      Crafting great melodies is trivial. You can come up with 1000 amazing melodies in a day. The difficulty in producing a song is not in the "crafting a melody" step.

      @@craftypantspro3894 I'm a music producer. Melodies are considered utterly valueless to us for the reason I said above -- they're just simple ideas. They cannot make your music good. They are only loved when executed well, when all elements of the song are excellent. There are also an extremely limited finite number of good-sounding possible melodies in the standard diatonic system most people prefer to listen to music in, so there are pretty much no more original melodies anymore anyways.
      It's extremely easy, trivial even, to come up with 1000 perfect melodies in one day. All of the difficulty is in execution.

      @tuckvison 13 часов назад

      @@craftypantspro3894 That happens all the time. Like, every single day. Melodies are not considered valuable by music producers. It's easy to create a perfect melody in 10 seconds by just imagining it -- that is not where the bulk of the details in the song are.
