See in testing we already have idea about transmitted signal so in that we can understand what is unwanted signal easily. Some other ways are based on frequency spectrum one can understand unwanted signal
In the second signal(unwanted signal) there is fc term which has higher frequency.. The low pass filter passes only low frequency signals. So it is unwanted..

Sir in coherent detection usually we give the modulated signal s(t) as input and at the output side we receive it as demodulated output m(t) but you chosen the wrong notation
the difference between coherent andsynchronous demodulation is, Coherentdetection uses a locally generated carrier whereas synchronous doesn't require a local carrier generator, in stead of that it is having self extraction capability of Carrier signal.

Here s(t) has no carrier frequency since it is DSBSC , it contains only USB and LSB, so we have to give c(t) also
