I haven’t seen that tools in chests are used by my villagers. My field worker was using a scythe but that isn’t something I even own, and my lumberjack is cutting logs without any axes in chests. It does appear with the recent .1.1.0 update we’re forced to buy manure now so will have to figure out where to put it so the field hands utilize it.
Hello, First of all - good work, I wrote on last video few tips, but y probably didnt see that judging by today video, so ill make an exception and post it once more, so it might help you or someone else to better understand game mechanism. So few tips for future videos. 1. stone knives are nerfed, so they sell for less, bcs people used to get too much money, so less profitable now. thats why u were confused with durability 200%. 2. Upgrade storages to T2, y gonna need one near your home and one near cave with ores. Since they have shared storage, use that to get a lot of iron, salt and rock. If y dont have enough space in storage, y can put items inside, but your people wont be able to produce anything. All workers use storage, so be sure to keep space for them. (So far i know only meat from hunter is stored is hunting lodge, but leather goes to to storage as from others.) 3. Make sure to bring more people, and look for wanderers (people sitting near fire in each village), they change from time to time (either season or year) so pick people with specific skills, not just everyone.. 5-6 specialization in specific skills y want. 4. When y bring people, put better people to wood, they produce firewood, stick and logs. Your people use firewood, when y dont have then stick and at last logs. So if y put guy on wood, y can from time to time change log to firewood(they dont produce enough firewood, but y can use logs they gathered to create additional 4 firewood, so always have like 50 or more firewood in storage). Y get crafting and at the same time y make sure they dont use your sticks and logs . Y can check what your workers produce if y click on managing menu better skills means bigger productivity. By doing this y will get enough wood to produce building without gathering. 5. Other than wood put one guy for excavation point (for rocks or clay) and at least one in barn as field worker. Your workers on field can plow and seed and y dont need to use anything, its just little bit slow, but better than anything(dont forget to pick what they should sow). And at least one guy for hunting for food. If y want them to craft anything y need to have enough resources in storage, otherwise they are useless (i think y need to specific which item they should craft from menu). Btw, your people if works on filed etc., y will get crafting or farming... points for them so more people means faster grinding and at the same time they can produce enough for themselves. 6. If y mine rock from those clumps near road (like near starting village), y will get limestone. Nor sure what is use for now, but wont hurt to collect. 6. By doing quest u get more building limit. After this quest y get quest to get 1000 reputation. Its really slow but in a year 5 y get continuation of quest with wolfs which offer few hundreds of reputation, but dont forget to do daily quest in villages. Y´ll earn little bit reputation (usually 5-15 and y gonna need a lot of grinding) and sometimes y get as bonus points to crafting, survival etc (from 20-250). But be sure to finish this quests, (i think 1 season is limit for them) because if y dont y will lose reputation. 7.Dont forget to pick skill mule (adds 5kg to your weight limit), it helps to save time. 8. If y choose wife from villagers (not people around fire), then there is chance she will bring family, so keep that in mind. And if y decide to have children, your wife wont be working for almost 3 years. 9. In future think about chicken coop for example.. it helps with feathers a lot. so y wont have problem with that, But y gonna need few buck to get that going. 10. I am pretty sure your workers dont need tools in this stage of a game. Might change in a future. And y dont need shopkeeper in food storage, they eat automatically, just waste of worker. 11. Just little bit addition, for example y can harvest other villages fields. Like the one above starting city, y can use scythe on their field (y get farming points) and in night y can collect their harvest. (little update: it seems like they fixed harvesting from other villages in last update) And when we talking about harvesting, in first town there are 2 huts near field and in one of them y can find 5 scythes. They are considered as stolen, so y cant sell them in that city, but y can go to any other and sell it there, Each one is like 105 gold, and they respawn all the time (its little bit cheap tactic, but if y need a lot of money might be one of the options.
Congrats on the marriage lol. Now you have to plan for the kids, a new home, omg it never ends lol. Hopefully she won't leave ya for the woodsman. Great episode GE.
I've been wondering: can you build decorations / light sources for the houses, or is that not available in the game yet? Tar sticks or tallow lamps were common in the day, and people have always decorated their homes etc. It would be a bit cool if random decorations would appear in inhabited houses, it would make them seem "lived in". Even simple braided strings and beads on the walls would add a bit of ambience.
Patrik Hjorth yeah, I’d like to see candles or some sort of oil lamp, that could be mounted on walls or put on tables, workbench and chests would be nice. They could add a new crop, like false flax and a press building that you use to get lamp oil from it.
@@johnpatz8395 That would be nice, right? There are already animals to hunt, which could be a source for tallow, and as you say there are a number of different oilseed crops to be found. Since the game is still in development, I would assume that interior decorations and different light sources will be added eventually, once more important concerns are adressed.
Yay you got yourself a ball and chain great work dude now get to work on the ankle biters, I’m loving this game you make it so much fun with your insane commentary 👌👍
I was waiting on you to name one of your villagers Scott LOL. Absolutely love this series GE. Congrats on finally getting a wife!! Thank you for all the super wonderful content. You are the best!! ;)
I wonder... if staying clean affects the villagers mood, then the tavern and sewing (because who wears rags in winter?) might boost morale aside from just their purposes. Just enjoying your thoughtful game play- you took the time to gain a much better location, even if it added time to your growth! Big respect- others playing this game took the same spot and their villages look like crap!🤣❤👍
Loving this series...but could you also go back and do more with that lumberjack game and that gem mining game? I'm not able to play these games, and have to live them through you
what would be nice in this game to be the possibility to use a handcart (standing many around there) or later a carriage... i know, with a cart you would be slow, too.. but you could carry loads....
Marlowe Fuentes yep, you know she knows how to handle a......... ummm.... well male chicken. Sorry, but seems my inner 14 year old took over for a minute there. 🤣
you assigned to of your villagers to a house you tore down... they are reported as homeless... I am probably a day late and a dollar short, but could just not not say it EDIT never mind you found out yourself
The iron ax and iron hammer seems to take less strokes to work while costing less stamina per use. If you have the iron for them, it'll cut down your chopping and building time to half or even more. Maybe something has changed. Give it them another try? =)
I think it was the durability that made him stay with stone for the extra effort required to get the iron it's just not worth it for how quickly it breaks
I wonder, since you married the chicken lady, and she left her chicken stand, where you're going to buy chickens now? Will another NPC move into her old stand? BTW, congrats on your marriage, GE!
You put your two villagers at the simple small house and then you demolish the simple small house in your old village. That's why they are homeless it means you put them in a wrong house a few minutes ago.
wives let you respec your skill points. So once you've capped out your points, you don't need the +xp gain skills anymore, you can reassign those points to something still useful.
GAMER GAMING yeah, thy will, when you first get married, than after a few years they might get to “respect” on your birthday...... oh, your talking about in the game, never mind. 🤣
One of the best things for money at start are berries... you get a lot of them from harvest & are easy to spot , light & damn when it's the time I do lot more that i can solpend for now... jsut making money for those animals in the furture^. Btw. question to who knows do there is a cap limit to the levels ? becouse on 2 of the skill trees i got like something "2/0" now or the number of exp that I nead to level is just to big for it to fit & I see only zero or sure i got more than 2 exp points in gathering^ & survival & close to the same point in farming. Thinking about the reset of skill point if it is what i think & then 3 point free from 1st lev for other ones. Also feel like to much grinding when you step of the starting part to something like mid/late game :/ & ofcors you cna have workers do simple tasks for resources but still from nice mix of rpg & managment you get only managment at end :/
BloodM3ss There is a maximum of 10 levels per skill tree, so it’s probably worthwhile to put 3 points in the tier 1 skills that give bonus points early on, then reset once you have the maximum 10 levels.
chicken lady is the most skilled woman but, shes broken. i married her and managed to have a kid but the game didnt register her as my wife for some reason so the mission later on to have a wife and kid and 1500 rep i couldnt pass

The field workers don't require neither tools, seeds or manure to work. If you want to work on a field then yes, you'll need those things.
Make some fences around the houses. Pretty the place up a bit 😁
