I really like the outside of this dump just because it's so simple. It just works perfectly for the kind of place it is. When I look at that I think bunker, and that's just what a nuclear waste dump is in the end. I also love how the inside reminds me a lot of Nova Prospekt from the Half Life series. It just looks super cool.
In the final look at The Tomb you could see some waste backing up on one of the lower levels. Might want to look into that before it gets too radioactive.

I think you're right. Unless its a weird visual glitch with how the game renders distant objects, he's definitely got a belt connection problem down there. Hopefully he sees and fixes it before it gets too radioactive down there.

The center distribution is such a great contrast to the rest your base. The chaos in the design is perfect for the chaos of storing a massive amount of waste.

Kibitz another option is build the store in the Mountain of the desert. There are some hide access. Its difficult but not impossible but there is so much space in there
If you eventually have to expand the waste gulag, you should build a big circular silo going up! Circles are a cool design and you haven't done something like it yet, plus it keeps the same "central pillar" design
I kind of feel like you should be able to upgrade foundations from concrete to something with some form of lead-based lining to protect from the radiation... so that this would actually work as a silo.
An idea to your brick (that you mentioned before you started building) is to mirror your spaghetti center spire upwards, so you don't need to put another brick above it..

Yeah, that turned out nice. Well done. I wonder if it's possible to unpack the drums of nuclear waste and and store it in fluid buffers? Kinda like what Japan is doing with the radioactive water at Fukushima. But then you'd have a bunch or radioactive drums to deal with too and no way to recycle them.
Yeah I personally avoid areas that are just a flat plane, I'm pretty confident they'll get to polishing that spot later on down the line but he can always noclip under the map if he can't access that area anymore. I doubt his current stuff would get deleted if a node would be placed there or something similar.
You should make an overflow indicator: Put a smart splitter on overflow at the entrance of each floor and belt it back up to the top, then as the floors fill up you can just look at the outside of the building and start seeing barrels of waste. Then you have a quick way to tell if you need to focus on expanding storage without delving into the bowels of the dump. For example(from a distance): . . .. . . -> okay. ..... .... . . ..... . . ... -> time to expand!
@ImKibitz there are a couple of mods that can help you with the Nuclear Waste issue. And if the Devs come up with something to use the waste for later on you can just get rid of the mod that takes care of the waste.
The nuclear waste in the window idea is neat, thought I would have flipped it around. Using the smart splitter overflow logic, I would only have it route the nuclear waste to the window to indicate that one section / area is completely fully. That way, if you ever needed to check on your capacity (since it's randomly distributed) you can quickly get a sense of how "full" the entire building is at a glance by seeing all the nuclear waste at the windows. Even better, make it look like a progress bar filling up the windows from one side of the building to the next :P

Hey Kibbs, love the squid monster! I could actually enjoy more spaghetti in the central tower. More convolutions would add aesthetically imho. Either way I love the whole build. It looks a bit like a bank, but combined with the inside it does look like an industrial punk inspired Egyptian tomb mixed with (of course) a gulag
One disadvantage of splitting the waste evenly in the pit: the floors will be running full at the same time. So you won't have a good visual indication when your storage is reaching 25% / 50% / 75% as if you just had one line of waste trailing downwards. But you'll certainly have some kind of idea for that issue, don't you? ;-)

Hey kibz, if you use both inputs and outputs on the storage container, you can fix the issue with the needing to have 2 780 lines
