including the current war with the demon king, the current demon king was slandered mercilessly by aqua's cult for being a pedo or something like that, he took massive offense and went to war over it. aqua herself is part of the plague on the world as well, as many of the cheat users she's sent to this world have made it a much worse place. such as the cheat user who wanted to make leveling up easier, so he made all the "food" have xp, which in turn made all the food sources sentient monsters (aka, the flying cabbage) this caused a world wide famine as farmers were slaughtered by their crops until farmers could level up high enough to actually farm their crops. the result is most farmers in this world are OP badasses with levels approaching 100 (for comparison, around the time aqua was bragging at being higher level then kazuma in the second season, she was just lvl.20) I could say more about how much aqua has ruined this world with her careless nonsense and poorly chosen cheat users... but that would get into spoiler territory.
@@EBE-mp8xe ok a spoiler... a good example is the last few demon kings which plague the world were cheat users aqua sent to the world to defeat the demon king. once they won for various reasons they would turn down the gods reward and stayed around and take up the mantle of demonking for various reasons. wether is be their personality, or the role seemed like fun, or they just hated aqua so much... I forgot many of the other things about this world she directly or indirectly ruined via her church or through the cheat users she sent there. but it's a running joke in the light novels, kazuma would uncover one more horrific thing about this world, and eventually it would turn out to be someone a cheat user aqua sent there created for some reason or other. The anime really only carried the joke of the guy who made the Destroyer and Crimson Demons forward there were at least 2 more such jokes the anime sort of skipped over (the food having xp because of a cheat user was one such)
@@arizona_anime_fan ..iirc she was a troublemaker amongst the gods. So when they had a chance to boot her off they did it hence the reason Kazuma's request to bring her with him was granted
the joke is that the crimson demons were all engineered to be "chuunibyou," which is a japanese trope that translates to "8th grader syndrome." in japan, it describes a phase some middle schoolers go through when they pretend to be characters from anime/video games and they've convinced themselves that they have hidden knowledge or secret powers. crimson demons are actually powerful, but they're all preoccupied with looking cool and acting like anime characters with catch phrases/special attacks and recreating dramatic tropey anime/manga/light novel story beats instead of being practical. yunyun is ostracized bc she thinks it's kind of cringe and is too embarassed to act like a crimson demon.
They were engineered to be the perfect spellcasters. In the end that's really all they were. Aside from Wiz there aren't a lot of Spellcasters in their world that are that strong. The joke is that they were taught in a super dramatic chuuni way, so their entire culture became super chuuni to the core. They don't understand that the way they are isn't normal like the people in the real world who act like that would know. So they never stop being that way and every new one that is born is basically trained to be that way as well. xD This entire race is basically a big f you to the demon king. He would never win as long as this race is around, so the movie premise makes a lot of sense as well.
Dont forget the OVA you watched. The crimson demons were created by that japanese man who also created the destroyer. Thats why the whole culture of the crimson demons is basically japanese:)
@@LARVideos Why wouldn't it be canon? Being an OVA has nothing to do if something is canon or not. An OVA just means it's not a standard episode and/or didn't get a theatrical release. That doesn't mean its not canon, it's just a short side story they couldn't fit in elsewhere. And even if the events weren't canon, it can reference stuff that is canon.
Megumin's attack with Yunyun and especially the ending scene with Megumin and Kazuma makes me cry every time. I cannot express enough how good this movie is to me. The combination of comedy, wholesome/heartwarming stuff, serious moments, and just seeing the group's shenanigans makes it the best movie I've ever seen. Thank you Natsume Akatsuki for making this series. It truly is, god's blessing on this wonderful world.
The crimson demons actually put a lot more into the fight. Having teleport is super op, they basically do hit-and-run on her from different directions. They even did some gags just to mess with her. Like Suketa(The woman that saves Kazuma's group from the army) was 'injured' and can't escape, Bukoroi (The first guy to introduce himself, from the group that saves Kazuma's group) cried how he can't save her and that they love each other. Even Sylvia was feeling touched by the show, then Suketa just teleported to escape. Then Bukoroi stopped crying and teleported as well. both Kazuma and Sylvia were pissed by that show. forgot if it's here, but there should be a telescope in the village that is pointed directly toward the Demon King's daughter's room.
They’ve rly made megumin stand out recently with the movie and megumin spin off series Edit: it seems like megumin and kazuma have the most healthy relationship out of the group so maybe that’s why they’re pushing more megumin stuff idk
Megumin and Kaz r more equals than Darkness and Kaz. Honestly Darkness is so down bad for her fetish that Kazuma could literally enslave her and she'd only complain about it, nothing more
It's a Toaru no Railgun reference for the most part. They just used a gun because it's one of the most obvious differences between a fantasy world and a modern one. Though I also understand it's nothing but a joke. I just figured I'd throw some trivia out there. xD
When Megumin asked Kazuma in the end to seal off her explosion magic it did not mean that she would not be able to do explosion magic any more. It just meant she couldn´t develop it further and thus would never be able to master explosion magic to the maximum level - so she was ready to give up her life dream to be in exchange a more versatile and useful member of the group.
If you haven't watched Re:Zero S1, Saga of Tanya the Evil, or Overlord S1, please watch those next so that you can get more Konosuba goodness in Isekai Quartet. I loved getting to watch this in theaters. It was such a great experience one doesn't often get to see on the big screen. FYI, the ending for the movie was changed from the books.
You can read the manga for Tanya the Evil. It is far more like the novel than the anime is and has better character design. They also understand the story premise far better than the anime does. The anime put their entire budget into the first episode. Which is a problem when you ignore the original story, the character design, who the characters are, and only correctly adapt some of the combat scenes. The comedy is the biggest change of anything else. It's almost completely a comedy story except when the battles happen. To completely ignore the comedy in the anime is the biggest problem. They take things too seriously that are supposed to be a joke.
YEEEES! I'ma binge this video right now! Hope you do Megumin's spinoff next, it's always fun rewatching stuff with you guys! And if you were conflicted about Sylvia, the "villain" in the spinoff is even more unlucky lol
Megumin is so small or underdeveloped because of malnutrition. It showed a little of her back story in season two but basically her family is super poor thus not enough food
that's only part of the reasons, the other part is, that at the time of the movie she is only 14 years old, according to the author but which they never mention in the anime
@@shoganmajere7913 They actually do because they state Kazuma's age and say she's 3 years younger. They just don't directly state it outright which is the exact thing they aren't allowed to do. The problem with this is it doesn't make sense from the type of community the Crimson Demons are. They should all be rich because they are essentially unrivaled in what they bring to the world. They do everything better than the rest of the world across the board and they are the best magic users in the world. It's a plothole with how solid of a foundation it is to get rich in a city and world like that. Still at the same time you aren't meant to seriously analyze a comedy series' lore. What they have is more like anti lore than actual lore. They take the most simplistic answer whenever possible. You can't make assumptions on their world because we only see it from the POV of the most different people from the rest of the world. It is a perfect example of the phrase. Less is more.
They would be rich if they were traveling the world and using their powers to be adventurers, but it seems pretty clear that most Crimson Demons just want to stay in the village and indulge in their kid like power fantasies, which means there is limited money coming in. And if everyone in the village is a super powerful mage, then being a super powerful mage in the village is actually no advantage. To paraphrase Fontaine from the first Bioshock game: “These captains of industry, they all expect to come here and rule. And they forgot that someone always has to be the one scrubbing the toilets”. Megumin and Yunyun seem to be pretty unique in their desire to leave the village at all.
Fun fact: Just as Megumin explained, the Crimson Demons are born with a bar code tattoo somewhere on their body. And Yunyun's happens to be on her inner thigh, very close to her crotch. Which is very embarrassing for her. As for Megumin, her's is actually on her butt And another thing: The whole second part of the big fight against Sylvia is anime-original. In the actual Light Novel, she actually died when Komekko shot the Railgun at her, completely stealing Kazuma's big moment, and the fight ended with her posing triumphantly
Notice how they say on the announcer "Anyone available come to the main entrance" and half of the village shows up. Defending the village is like their hobby. xD Also the ending was basically Kazuma's proposal to Megumin. lol
Magumin wanted to learn advanced magic to help Kazuma and the others instead of being a "burden", Yunyun has nothing to do with that. She really meant that, even if it was tearing her inside. Ofc Kazuma prioritized her feelings here cuz he s the goat. Spoilers about Komekko: She won't be the one to defeat the demon king...but her talent is so broken she probably could have
It's actually wild how wholesome this movie turns out to be in the end, especially since the whole mood of this anime is so ecchi. The juxtaposition is breaking my brain and melting my heart.
**Wes asks why hungry poor people don’t have money for food** Suddenly I’m reminded of that scene in American Psycho where the titular character asks a homeless man “if you’re so hungry, why don’t you get a job?” 😐
6:11 This movie has a lot of siblings moment's between Kazuma and Aqua, so I will try my best to put them here Ps: if there not here, it's because they got cut so this can be on RUclips 🙃 11:06 Comforting your younger (he's actually younger then Aqua for reasons) after a traumatic experience 28:44 Did not mark the others because they are basically the same as this one "Kazuma and Aqua just having a little chat of something only they know" 34:14 Backing up Kazuma, by actually not telling them that hes not the Curse Swors user 🤣 This moment has to be here 💞 1:02:22 just how much they actually care for each other (for convenience a bit also) is something siblings do 👍
This information is only ever mentioned in the novels but the reason why the Demon King army is attacking the Crimson Demons is because they occasionally teleport to the barrier surrounding his castle and bombard it with spells, additionally the Crimson Demons created a tower that has a magical telescope to watch the Demon Kings daughter change in her room. And one of the only reasons why the world seems so peaceful is because both the Crimson Demons and the Axis Cult beat the Demon Kings army into submission because the Crimson Demons are absurd spell casters and the Axis Cultists despise Demons so much that they have effectively became a military force specifically designed to exterminate demons.
What happened is the reason why the town of beginning is safe is not just that it's the furthest town away, the demonlord land are also bordering the Crimson Village that constantly wiped out any monsters trying to crossed the border, at the same time they also bordering Axel land that have all the cheat isekai people like Mitsurugi (yes, there's more) on the front line defending Axel and neighbouring countries and the war efforts is supported by those neighbouring countries founding. So Beginner's Town is safe... for now.
Ya it actually does make no sense at all. It should be something Darkness said instead. It would make more sense if Goddesses didn't spend their free time watching worlds from any continuum with an ability to automatically understand all cultural differences. Since she demonstrates that ability in every single scene and in every single episode of the anime. She may not be able to read Japanese, but it does seem like her speech is auto translated. Since there is no concept of language in connection with her and that she could potentially get people who don't speech japanese.
It's almost like Kazuma acts like a young teenage boy. Wes should know all to well how that feels =) Liches in most fantasy games are always OP, so ya Wiz is likely one of the most powerful things on that planet.
Actually Wiz could defeat Sylvia, Verdia, and Hans altogether easily. It's just the plot in this movie they have anti-magic device, so Wiz couldn't do a thing to them.
@@aidanjanemcintosh6919 now that I think about what you are saying, Kazuma and his crew only defeated the Dullahan and Hans, and not really, Wiz was there for the assist and heavy lifting w/Hans and Sylvia and the Destroyer.
@@tric5122 yep and in the novel, Wiz actually finishes Hans. the Scene where Aqua gets the killing blow, is only in the anime. the novel also makes a stronger point, that Wiz explotion hits the destroyer much harder than megumins. in the anime, they just blast it together but in the novel, the plan is that each blast one side of the legs, so the destroyer becomes immobile. wiz explotion evaporates "her" side of the destroyer while megumins explotion creates scrapnells from the exploding legs. that is why megumin mentions "thats a lich for you" because she just has that much more power.
The anime and the light novels are separate canons, unless they have said that that part of the movie is non-canon, then it is canon to the anime. Just because something happened in the anime that didn't in the light novel doesn't make it non-canon.
I'm glad the animation did something different, because that extra fight had so much impact and emotion behind it. It was really good character development for pretty much everyone involved and it further shows why a 'rookie adventurer' like Kazuma is the perfect party leader.
No wonder, because the extended fight is a mess😂.. Like how Sylvia resurrecting the dead, or when kazuma hits a new low by toying with Sylvia's feeling. I feel the one that suggested the extended flight doesn't even realise that kazuma supposed to be a likable character, or maybe they think toying with someone love with the intention to kill that someone is actually a likable character trait😂. Maybe next time they gonna add a scene where he gonna r*pe the enemy just for the LOLs😂
The only change I don't like is one of Megumins friends was changed to not be a loli type character when she is supposed to be. I am automatically against all changes that can be seen as political changes or censorship. The rest doesn't really harm the story overall. However, Komekko killing her is probably the funniest outcome.
Its one one of those extras thing but YunYun Graduated only able to use Intermediate Magic as she used up her skill points to save Megumuins sister(you graduate as soon as you can cast magic, Advanced casting is the actual goal) By time she saves Kazuma, Megumuin, and the State Prosucuter from the Frogs she has been a Adventurer and Caravan guard for hire for 2 years grinding the points to get her Advance Magic Skill before returning to Axel She is highly praised and appreciated by the Caravans and Adventurers that hire her but she feels/gets awkward around her Classmates She actually has a party of Adventures she is a part of in Axel so she wasnt lying about that but tried to bluff Kazuma, Aqua,Darkness, and Megumuin as her group as she didnt bring her Party home with her
More importantly than Komekko stealing Kazuma's thunder, she stole his XP... Also, as for what Megumin's father does, check out the spin off series Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Bakuen wo! that covers Megumin and YunYun's background before coming to Axel. It'll answer quite a few questions.
I don't think it's a spoiler just extra info.. The crimson Demons have a watch tower that can peep into the Demon King's Daughter room, and they were using it for tourist attraction.. so they were coming to destroy it, it seems..
yeah the Crimson Demon village is lived in by a bunch of genetically engineered folks created by that Destroyer guy, who's a massive turbo-nerd and also lived in Japan
I mean Megumin has many moments showing how fond she is of Kazuma, by all she has written in her letters, I beleive also her mother get a hit of it and understood, that selling her out on Kazuma isn't totally aggainst Megumins wishes.
As a Konosuba Novel Reader I can vouch that the heart at the end is really meaningful... specially later.... Also they cut so many romantic moments from Kazuma and Megumin, that I really recommend either reading the novel or the manga.... KazumaxMegumin 4 ever...
This is such a fun movie. Honestly i think this is peak konosuba i think its probably better than even the two seasons. And that makes me ridiculously excited for konosuba season 3 next year. The whole show is great. I loved the megumin spin off show as well but that kind of is just a hold over until the main season.
I imagine crimson demon village is like the Texas of this isekai, where people walking around with immense power (g+n) forcing the place to be safe as a slight to other just might get you killed
List of biggest annoyances/differences compared to the novel in the Konosuba movie. 1. Kazuma wouldn't rate Megumin's explosions so low like he did multiple times in the film. Kazuma if you recall, learned to appreciate them in season 1 and Megumin highly values Kazuma's ratings. If he gives her a high score, it makes her really happy. 2. The conversation that they have with Yunyun is supposed to happen right when they come back from the hot springs, and that's where season 2 should have ended. With Yunyun asking Kazuma to have her baby and the Axis cult realizing who Aqua is. So the conversation starts and ends in the mansion. 3. The movie skipped most of the adventure to the crimson demon village including meeting a sentient plant that kills adventurers similar in concept to a Venus fly trap. It kills them by making them feel sorry for it and staying with it forever till they die at her side. She looks like a cute girl. The party comes across it and are initially tricked by its charms. The plant manages to convince them that it's an innocent existence, so they decide to not kill it. They manage to tear themselves away, but Kazuma goes back because he gets worried about Yunyun coming across it due to her personality being more unacceptable to something saying it feels lonely. Upon coming across it, still hidden, he listens to the plant curse and complain that it wasn't able to trap Kazuma's party, very different from the persona that it showed to them. Proving that it's just a monster that wants to eat people. He confronts it and it tries to convince him with more material things now that the cat is out of the bag. Kazuma returns to the his party with a level up. 4. The movie skips the set up of the confrontation with the orcs. Initially Kazuma saw them from a distance and thought they were male. Judging by his knowledge of typical orc lore, he tells the girls he'll protect them no matter what happens knowing the kinds of things they're known to do in fiction. When he gets close, that's when the confrontation goes south. It goes similar to the movie after that. 5. When they get close to the crimson demon village, Megumin doesn't use explosion on the demons, and Kazuma isn't dumb enough to give their location away like that. Everyone is quite a bit dumber in the movie for some reason. The crimson demons show up and save them, and that goes similarly. Also, do note that nobody but Yunyun knows that Megumin does explosion. That's important for what comes later. 6. I only really realized on this second viewing, but I'm surprised that the crimson demon village has an alert that sounds exactly like the one in Axel. lol 7. Kazuma saying that those are "real" crimson demons is a bit strange considering that Megumin is was considered one of the top geniuses of the village, and her personality is pretty in line with a typical crimson demon. Yunyun is the one that has always been odd compared to everyone else, so she's the one that didn't quite fit in. But I guess he could have been talking about the variety of magic. 8. Movie skipped quite a bit of Kazumin scenes in this, so that's extremely disappointing since this is pretty much the starting off point for some wonderful things. 9. The movie skipped a lot of the introduction to characters and town during some outings, so Kazuma's impression at how impressive the crimson demon's application of OP magic to improve daily life was left out. 10. The designs of most of the crimson demons that didn't already have a design in the novels are pretty awful. It's like they missed the point of the crimson demons. They are all about being cool. But all of the anime original crimson demons just look... like that wasn't what they were going for. 11. The meeting with her old classmates went quite differently. Also, the design of the classmates is atrocious compared to the novels. Like.. god damn, I don't know what's wrong with the the designs in this movie. They all have bodies that belong to menopausal overweight women. They are the same age as Megumin and Yunyun. 12. Sylvia looks manlier in the anime, but in this case, I actually think that's a good thing. It fits her character much more. lol 13. Vanir and Wiz are in the town for no reason at all. I have no idea why they decided to add them to this. It makes no sense at all. 14. The reveal that the destroyer guy was a reincarnated person was supposed to be here, but the OVA spoils it. Not to mention, this is when aqua was supposed to reveal that the diary in the destroyer's main chamber was written in Japanese as well. Also, his OP ability is to make magic tools or something. Actually, if I remember correctly, the tool you see right in the beginning of the first season that scans Kazuma's stats and creates the adventurer's card was made by him too. 15. Despite how amazing it showed the crimson demons in the beginning when it comes to combat, when the fight with Sylvia starts it turns them utterly useless by making it so they can't use spells. In the novel, it was the opposite. They distracted Sylvia most of the time while the party was searching for the magic rail gun. The crimson demons actually have some really clever and effective ways to fight and even with Sylvia being as powerful as she is, she has an extremely difficult time dealing with the crimson demons as they attack her with magic, and teleport away. Alternating so there's always someone, somewhere attacking her while the others recharge. I HATE that they made the crimson demons useless during the fight. 16. This is one of the things that bugs me the most. Literally everything after the railgun is fired is basically non-canon and anime original. And the worst part is that undermines and changes the meaning of many important things that will come later, and are shown later. After Kommeko fires the gun, that's where the fight was supposed to end. Everything else is nonsensical and additional. It actually makes so little sense, it hurts. Especially since Konosuba is so good at having events make sense. There's no reason for Verdia, Hans, Vanir, or Wiz to be there. God, extending that fight is so dumb. Where the heck did they even come from? How? If Wiz decided to come, why did Vanir? And vice versa. Why would they even leave the shop? Not to mention, The thing with Kazuma enchanting Sylvia is also so freaking dumb. Why would Sylvia fall in love because of the things Kazuma says? It makes Sylvia seem incredibly dumb, and easily swayed. She's a demon king general for Christ's sake. How is Kazuma even able say the things he says? He's not even a smooth guy whatsoever. None of this makes sense at all. It also ruins the running gag in the series where Darkness is the most useless in the group with the pointless Vanir taking control of her body. Darkness isn't really supposed to do anything. Like usual. Also, like usual, the series adds yet another non-canon death. Since the fight originally ends with Komekko killing Sylvia, he doesn't die in this battle. 17. Having Megumin actually set off an explosion is one of the dumbest additions to the movie possible because it undermines the character growth and the advancement of the relationship between Kazuma and Megumin. After Komekko kills Sylvia with Megumin's explosion being useless, she starts to question whether it's even worth to have explosion Magic. Especially when the other crimson demons find out that she knows explosion. She goes from being the prided genius of the crimson demons to a disappointment. What makes it worse for her is that While that happened to her, the opposite happens to Yunyun. She gets famous among the other crimson demons for being able to make such a great entrance during the battle. Megumin's self esteem is at an all time low, and she resolves herself to give up her way of life because of it. In the movie, her setting off the biggest explosion in the series so far completely invalidates that decision and makes it seem like it's almost like a whim. Why would she feel useless when her explosion ended up being the thing that saved the day? It doesn't make any sense. It's the reason that her decision to give Kazuma the card so he could make the option for her is such an important and meaningful thing in the novels. Her feeling of uselessness and her increasing desire to help Kazuma influences this extremely. She's literally entrusting the rest of her life to him. When he decides to make her explosion stronger, and she unleashes it, he gives it a high score. Which like I mentioned in the beginning of this list, Megumin values incredibly highly. He makes her so incredibly happy right there, that Megumin is pretty much officially smitten. The movie subtly hints it with the explosion being in a heart shape, but it chooses all the wrong times to be subtle, and doing the opposite when it shouldn't. Ruins one of the best and most emotional moments in the series.
yikes. it's almost like you can't have fun. dude i read the novels too. the movie changes are mostly harmless. yes, i would have liked the plant girl segment, though in retrospect i'm not sure how funny that would have been animated, it was hilarious in the light novels but when i think of how it would look animated i'm not sure it would have been that funny. The ending battle was just extended to have a bigger climax. the joke being setup by kimoko kill stealing is that kazuma's level was lagging behind the party, because the person who makes the last strike gets all the xp, so almost all the xp was going to megumin and aqua. it's a role playing mechanic which the anime has chosen to leave out of the anime for the most part, so adding it for the movie wouldn't have made a lot of sense. so the joke with kimoko kill stealing was kazuma, yet again, failed to land the killing blow on a devil king general. there was like 3 novels worth of jokes left out of the anime in season 2 leading up to this punchline with the kill steal. since the kill steal no longer had like 3 novels of buildup to the punchline, adding that for the movie wouldn't have been that funny. so they swapped it around and gave the movie a giant boss battle which was visually fun. I don't see the harm in that. as for wiz and vanir, the anime chose to cut out some backstory that makes it clear the "magic craftsman" who makes all of wiz's junk is megumin's father, since the anime cut that detail out, i suspect they wanted to figure out a natural way for a season 3 to weave it back in (since it is relevant to kazuma's soon to be had wealth), plus wiz and vanir make the final battle more epic since they chose that route.
I wanna say "I ain't reading allat" but I did, and I still found the movie very enjoyable. Your explanation however makes me wanna read the light novel... Is it completed? Also, I heard that Darkness confesses to him at some point too. Does he end up with Megumin or both of them?
@@shadowstalker3424 The novel's complete. There are a bunch of side story still being made/translated, but the main story is done. Relationship-wise... It been a while since I read the novels, but I think Kazuma+Megumin works out in the end.
@@shadowstalker3424 yes, the LN's are done. if the anime is going to adopt it all you'd probably need 2-3 more seasons to do it. The books are pretty funny, and surprisingly close to the anime, the anime isn't all that far off the novels. there are some jokes cut out, some details left out, some details changed... for example, kazuma doesn't die to the season 2 boss, and the OVA death doesn't happen... plus the death that didn't happen in this movie (it's novel 5) and that's 3 deaths that didn't happen. the only two deaths he had in the novels at this point were to the Lizard Runners and the Winter Shogun. you can tell this is the case because his dialogue with Eris are fleshed out after those deaths, the other three they just do reaction shots of eris, and one joke in the OVA with eris telling him not to die in such a ridiculous fashion. i won't spoil what's coming but several of my favorite scenes in the books are coming up in season 3... which i'm really looking forward to.
I 100% agree. The movie ends up killing half the vibe of the original novel and tacks on some nonsensical things that kneecap Megumin's character arc. If you want the proper Konosuba experience, just read the novels.
Setting Megumin up with Kazuma is not selling her out. Their family is dirt poor and he is rich. They are obviously close friends, and in that world she is old enough to get married. There is no downside to that arrangement. He gets a wife, she gets a husband, their poor family becomes rich, and everyone is happy. It's a win/win for everyone involved. Hell, in medieval times there wouldn't even be much of a discussion about it. They would have married her off without even asking. That was totally normal and expected back then. Megumin's opinion would have literally nothing to do with that outcome. Also, if she cared anything about the fate of her own family living in squalor, she would have agreed to the marriage anyway. It's the right thing to do. Even if he was ugly and heinous. Which he is not. Love can come later. (as if they weren't already in love anyway)

spoiler i warn you kazuma literally regretted his choice to put all megumin available points into explosion damage that day in few days. but in the last arc in the novel that probably will never animated, that choice helped him because megumin spammed explosion soo many times in quick succession like eminem singing rap god to demon king barrier and shattered it completely and at the same time killing the last demon king general who literally called unkillable because of his unlimited mana and unlimited regenation. he got erased from existence before he could introduce himself. but i guess being hit with a nuke a hundreth of times in few min can do the trick lol
Thanks for another awesome anime reaction series. When you get the chance please please consider checking out Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody, Overlord, Asobi Asobase, Hinamatsuri, Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, In Another World with My Smartphone, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. These are some great anime series to watch, you two have a great day! 🙂🍀
Aqua and her cult are literally responsible for 90% of the problems in Konosuba.
wait till u watch megumin's side series.
including the current war with the demon king, the current demon king was slandered mercilessly by aqua's cult for being a pedo or something like that, he took massive offense and went to war over it.
aqua herself is part of the plague on the world as well, as many of the cheat users she's sent to this world have made it a much worse place. such as the cheat user who wanted to make leveling up easier, so he made all the "food" have xp, which in turn made all the food sources sentient monsters (aka, the flying cabbage) this caused a world wide famine as farmers were slaughtered by their crops until farmers could level up high enough to actually farm their crops. the result is most farmers in this world are OP badasses with levels approaching 100 (for comparison, around the time aqua was bragging at being higher level then kazuma in the second season, she was just lvl.20)
I could say more about how much aqua has ruined this world with her careless nonsense and poorly chosen cheat users... but that would get into spoiler territory.
@@arizona_anime_fanplease elaborate, I want spoilers
So when they had a chance to boot her off they did it hence the reason Kazuma's request to bring her with him was granted
the joke is that the crimson demons were all engineered to be "chuunibyou," which is a japanese trope that translates to "8th grader syndrome." in japan, it describes a phase some middle schoolers go through when they pretend to be characters from anime/video games and they've convinced themselves that they have hidden knowledge or secret powers.
crimson demons are actually powerful, but they're all preoccupied with looking cool and acting like anime characters with catch phrases/special attacks and recreating dramatic tropey anime/manga/light novel story beats instead of being practical. yunyun is ostracized bc she thinks it's kind of cringe and is too embarassed to act like a crimson demon.
also that they have 3 times the intelligence of a normal person, but their personality counters it.
I had chuuni phase about star wars when I was 12.
They weren't engineered to be anything, they're chuuni because they are, only thing the japanese guy gave them was high MP, high INT and red eyes.
So they never stop being that way and every new one that is born is basically trained to be that way as well. xD
This entire race is basically a big f you to the demon king. He would never win as long as this race is around, so the movie premise makes a lot of sense as well.
Dont forget the OVA you watched. The crimson demons were created by that japanese man who also created the destroyer. Thats why the whole culture of the crimson demons is basically japanese:)
You shouldn't have to remember the OVA since it isn't canon... This is the first time this should have been revealed.
@@LARVideos the Destroyer part is canon though
Specifically they were created by a ultra Otaku/Weeb.
@@ThePorpoisepower afaik it's anime only and not in the source material, kinda like the season 1 OVA
It truly is, god's blessing on this wonderful world.
it is true peak fiction
They’ve rly made megumin stand out recently with the movie and megumin spin off series
Edit: it seems like megumin and kazuma have the most healthy relationship out of the group so maybe that’s why they’re pushing more megumin stuff idk
I think the writers realized they fucked up a bit by hard pushing darkness and kazuma
Megumin is the fan favorite. Everyone loves her so more content of her is just easy money.
Megumin and Kaz r more equals than Darkness and Kaz. Honestly Darkness is so down bad for her fetish that Kazuma could literally enslave her and she'd only complain about it, nothing more
@@BlazingInferno00 it's ironic because Kazuma's into older women and milf
@@cringemeat9430 When did they ever push Darkness and Kazuma?
“A rifle!?! This is the most American fantasy anime ever!”
You’ve clearly never seen ‘Gate.’ 😉
Dont remind me of that anime 😂😂😂
It's a Toaru no Railgun reference for the most part. They just used a gun because it's one of the most obvious differences between a fantasy world and a modern one. Though I also understand it's nothing but a joke. I just figured I'd throw some trivia out there. xD
It's so peak
i really really liked gate outside of the fan service stuff
@ I don’t recall Gate having much fan service.
Megumin's combo attack with Yunyun was straight up the best part of the movie.
Or just watch isekai quartet and not understand any of the references except konosuba’s like I did lol
Kazuma being inside of Sylvia’s chest is Konosuba making fun of the anime “Darling in the Franxx”
Fun fact: Just as Megumin explained, the Crimson Demons are born with a bar code tattoo somewhere on their body. And Yunyun's happens to be on her inner thigh, very close to her crotch. Which is very embarrassing for her. As for Megumin, her's is actually on her butt
And another thing: The whole second part of the big fight against Sylvia is anime-original. In the actual Light Novel, she actually died when Komekko shot the Railgun at her, completely stealing Kazuma's big moment, and the fight ended with her posing triumphantly
Notice how they say on the announcer "Anyone available come to the main entrance" and half of the village shows up. Defending the village is like their hobby. xD
Also the ending was basically Kazuma's proposal to Megumin. lol
YES! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!
It feels like rewatching the movie but with somebody else.
Magumin wanted to learn advanced magic to help Kazuma and the others instead of being a "burden", Yunyun has nothing to do with that. She really meant that, even if it was tearing her inside.
Ofc Kazuma prioritized her feelings here cuz he s the goat.
Spoilers about Komekko:
She won't be the one to defeat the demon king...but her talent is so broken she probably could have
It's actually wild how wholesome this movie turns out to be in the end, especially since the whole mood of this anime is so ecchi. The juxtaposition is breaking my brain and melting my heart.
**Wes asks why hungry poor people don’t have money for food**
Suddenly I’m reminded of that scene in American Psycho where the titular character asks a homeless man “if you’re so hungry, why don’t you get a job?” 😐
Easily the most interesting reaction content I have ever seen on RUclips. Thanks for making all these really entertaining reactions

This movie has a lot of siblings moment's between Kazuma and Aqua, so I will try my best to put them here
Ps: if there not here, it's because they got cut so this can be on RUclips 🙃
11:06
Comforting your younger (he's actually younger then Aqua for reasons) after a traumatic experience

Did not mark the others because they are basically the same as this one "Kazuma and Aqua just having a little chat of something only they know"

Backing up Kazuma, by actually not telling them that hes not the Curse Swors user 🤣
This moment has to be here 💞 1:02:22 just how much they actually care for each other (for convenience a bit also) is something siblings do 👍
yep they do have a very nice relationship.
So Beginner's Town is safe... for now.
It’s safe but exactly 4 of the 8 main bosses live right next to it
Many high level adventurers also frequent that town a lot, for one certain reason. But that's it, that town is more than safe.

Aqua had never seen a Japanese-style house before, which is why she thought Megumin's house was a stable.
Except that shes the goddess in charge of japan and thus knows most of the Japanese stuff in the village including the language
@@LorerothSo why did she not remember?
@@MarkIsTiredAlways Actually, to remember one has to have the one thing Aqua lacks - a brain. 😉
They are very poor and their house looked like warehouse
Ya it actually does make no sense at all. It should be something Darkness said instead.
It would make more sense if Goddesses didn't spend their free time watching worlds from any continuum with an ability to automatically understand all cultural differences. Since she demonstrates that ability in every single scene and in every single episode of the anime.
She may not be able to read Japanese, but it does seem like her speech is auto translated. Since there is no concept of language in connection with her and that she could potentially get people who don't speech japanese.
It's almost like Kazuma acts like a young teenage boy. Wes should know all to well how that feels =)
Liches in most fantasy games are always OP, so ya Wiz is likely one of the most powerful things on that planet.
@@calronkeltaran493 gonna have to buy the manga and read them
@@tric5122 there is a light novel, that is free to read. not so many pictures but still fun.
BTW: the entire half of the fight after Komekko pulls the trigger is non-canon. Komekko is the one who actually killed sylvia.
The anime and the light novels are separate canons, unless they have said that that part of the movie is non-canon, then it is canon to the anime. Just because something happened in the anime that didn't in the light novel doesn't make it non-canon.
@@cattouchdis yeah, it's anime canon just like the extended battle with Hans.
This movie is hilarious 😂

i'm still pissed that they cut out two really great Kazumin moments but decided to keep the orcs.

Its one one of those extras thing but YunYun Graduated only able to use Intermediate Magic as she used up her skill points to save Megumuins sister(you graduate as soon as you can cast magic, Advanced casting is the actual goal)
By time she saves Kazuma, Megumuin, and the State Prosucuter from the Frogs she has been a Adventurer and Caravan guard for hire for 2 years grinding the points to get her Advance Magic Skill before returning to Axel
She is highly praised and appreciated by the Caravans and Adventurers that hire her but she feels/gets awkward around her Classmates
She actually has a party of Adventures she is a part of in Axel so she wasnt lying about that but tried to bluff Kazuma, Aqua,Darkness, and Megumuin as her group as she didnt bring her Party home with her
It's really is another layer of funny that all the slander thrown at Kazuma is just true 😆
As someone who have finished reading all Konosuba Light Novel. I can say this is canon and the continuation of the 2nd season.

1:04:25 It was never stated that we were following the good guys!
You'd definitely enjoy Prison School. Very similar humor to konosuba. Its the "Thus spoke Zarathustra" of dick jokes
Wow, time to finish watching S2 reaction to watch this one!
at 27:03 the temple has cat ears on the roof, thus the cat girl figure in the temple.
6. I only really realized on this second viewing, but I'm surprised that the crimson demon village has an alert that sounds exactly like the one in Axel. lol
It fits her character much more. lol
I been starving for more Konosuba movie, yeah!
Its a shame the movie cut out Megumin's little confession to Kazuma.
plz also watch the megumin spinoff
That is the definition of "selling her out" bruh.
i know you get a lot of requests but i recommend watching fire force, it’s one of those animes that doesn’t get talked about a lot but really needs to be

Finally the legendary weapon "el rifle de Rango" 🦎
spoiler
i warn you
kazuma literally regretted his choice to put all megumin available points into explosion damage that day in few days.
but in the last arc in the novel that probably will never animated, that choice helped him because megumin spammed explosion soo many times in quick succession like eminem singing rap god to demon king barrier and shattered it completely and at the same time killing the last demon king general who literally called unkillable because of his unlimited mana and unlimited regenation. he got erased from existence before he could introduce himself. but i guess being hit with a nuke a hundreth of times in few min can do the trick lol
I think the punk guy is the devil king😂
darkness + vanyr = physical power 1000000000000%
