Just recently "rediscovered" Mazzy Star. Always loved them, amazingly underrated band and songwriters, but they got lost in the void of what is my music world and now that they've resurfaced for me, I'll never let them go again. Ever.

And she carries a custom $2200 pistol on her at all times. LOL. She's so not anti-hippie, and went as total opposite of a liberal arts bullshit as possible. But she wants a man smarter than her, and it's heartbreaking. She's never going to find that. She's utterly brilliant. Know any brilliant Mazzy Star fans? Good news for Mazzy fans! A brand new studio single's being released by Oct. 31, 2011, 1st official recording in 15+ years (what a long wait, what took them so long?)! It's not a rumour, it's been announced on Hope's official site & on Amazon, where the digital version will be released. Let's hope a full album & world tour are on the way soon too!

alot of mazzy star's music was great for me for: drinking and feeling down. smoking a joint in or near the car in a forest (with or without friends) and feeling okay. sitting alone in the car somewhere between the city and country, thinking of some girl that i was missing back then, who probably doesnt remember me one bit all these years later.
Mazzy were always one on their own, music like theirs was a refreshing tonic to the artificial 1980s...the 90's was a class decade for roots and rock music, but there will always be great music on the fringes, not that there will ever be another Mazzy....
I used to listen Mazzy Star some years ago. Recently I was watching movie "Wicker Park" (2004) and there I heard a familiar voice... To be honest at first I wasnt 100% sure its Mazzy Star, but it had that vibe, so I checked... yes.. it was this song.
