As a kid growing up in UK with ZX81 and then the BBC Micro (where I really developed my programming skills learning BASIC) I had no idea of the Acorn connection to ARM. Brings a little smile to my face with that historical connection. You are spot on regarding RISCV if it succeeds at all , it will take a long time due to the solid developer community around ARM. One risk is translation layer between ARM and RISCV . Nivida's CUDA also gives it the same advantage over ROCm etc...
