This reminds me of a young man name Antonio Neill, 22, who went missing Dec. 12, 2016 in Washington which is close to Canada. A foot was found in a boot on Everett's Jetty Island which later determine to belong to Neill. Case still unsolved. I wonder if these cases are linked.

I live on Whidbey island, near Everett. We’ve had at least 13 feet, found here since 2007, and if you include other body parts, we’ve had 25 random body parts - and that’s just what’s found! The foot found in 2010 was of a child or small woman was found in the greenbank boat launch in 2010. It had been in the water about 2 months when found. To this day, even with DNA this possible child’s foot and other remains are still in identified! And this doesn’t include all the feet found in Canada. This is some crazy stuff!!

    • @allilee2523
      @allilee2523 2 года назад +5

I believe all of these feet were retrieved far earlier than the date of the death of the young person you speak of, so sadly I doubt it’s the same person.
Also, as the other commenters have stated, many body parts are often found along the shores of this very beautiful and mysterious PNW region, ( I live in the puget sound region as well) however, despite this well known fact none of the different jurisdictions ever communicate, even when it comes to mysterious happenings linked to the ocean which undoubtedly means the currents most likely have swept more evidence to other jurisdictions or even across the border. So that’s why it’s rare that the source of these body parts is ever determined.

Since August 20, 2007, at least 20 detached human feet have been found on the coasts of the Salish Sea in British Columbia, Canada, and Washington, US. The first discovery, on August 20, 2007, was on Jedediah Island in British Columbia. Feet have been discovered on the coasts of islands in British Columbia, and in the US cities of Tacoma and Seattle.
In Canada, the B.C. Coroners Service said in December 2017 that foul play had been ruled out by authorities in all investigations and that the feet came from people who were killed either in accidents or by suicide, and the feet detached during the normal decomposition process. The feet were usually found in sneakers, which the coroner thought were responsible for both keeping the feet buoyant enough to eventually wash ashore, and for giving the feet enough protection from decomposition to be found relatively intact. Prior to the recent seeming rush of feet washing ashore, there have been earlier instances going back more than a century, such as a leg in a boot that was found on a Vancouver beach in 1887. The most recent discovery was on January 1, 2019, when people on Jetty Island in Everett, Washington called police to report a boot with a human foot inside, which the coroner was able to match to Antonio Neill, missing since Dec. 12, 2016

As a Canadian from Alberta, who has lived on Vancouver Island, I am laughing my butt off at the Communications Director for E Division (BC) being a francophone, who needs translation into English for a media piece.
BC is predominantly Anglophone (English speaking). This is a perfect example of how the RCMP is a broken organization, mired in bilingual politics.
Ask anyone who has ever been stopped by the RCMP in Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba. It's like trying to order a poutine in Quebec. Such a ridiculous role to place this PR officer in, in BC.

The body parts found here have nothing to do with the tsunami. They pre date the tsunami by many years. Furthermore there’s been no problem identifying tsunami victims using racial DNA testing. Here on whidbey we have to foot found in 2010 in Greenbank that came from a child or small woman- it’s still never been identified. And the vast majority of the dozens of feet and body parts here on Whidbey and the surrounding areas have never been identified. And if you actually did research on this area, you’d find out that it’s extremely unlikely any tsunami victims would make it into this area. And in fact NONE of Japan’s tsunami victims have ever made it through the straight of Juan fe Fuca into the PNW area of Puget sound- not one..

To discover the documentary was produced in 2010 explains the limited DNA technology used and scientific explanations. So even though published now, it was produced 12 years ago. Perhaps a statement in the contents below would be useful.
Also great to find, with a bit of research, that these individuals have been identified by the BC Coroner Service. Well done.

Is it because I am a mariner ???
The feet were mostly identified as seaplanes and vessels sinking to the bottom and later the feet detached and rise to the top because of the rotting mater causing methane gas . The island that I grew up on every grade season mostly couples slipping off the rocks and gone they do not rise back to the surface for about a hundred miles away. I am surrounded by the mighty Fraser River freshwater the island I live on in the mouth of the river when the tides rice salt water currents go up river and when the tide reverse the point is that there are always two currents of completely different Chemical make up from each other . Saltwater is more buoyancy than fresh water back in the day fishing vessels coming up the mouth of the Mighty Fraser River and sink to the bottom like a rock . Often there children are involved and you want to die listening to the parents or parent who have just lost one or all of their family members to our mother the Mighty Fraser river .
She has kept me well fed as well has held me in her arms keeping me safe from what can kill ya . The safest place to be but disrespect her just once and she will kill you enter her world without knowledge and acceptance she kills you every Time no exception to the rules .
Last year a kid twenty years old playing football and someone managed to land in the river so he dove in six feet from shoreline and never surfaced again gone without a trace . Our mother gave him back to his family 75miles from where he and friends were just chilling out nobody was drunk just pitching a ball in the park . The river is only twenty feet deep . And if you ever decide to go for a dive know that there is endless amounts of wood stick poles and trees just waiting for some moron to dive in and be held under water until his demise .
Some of the feet discovered were identified if not most of them. I live in one of the most dangerous landscapes on the planet. I do not know everything but I do know how to find out as to not cause your own death.
I was stopped by Mountain police who I could hear screaming before I got to them and they asked me what I had so I handed them my pack that they immediately dumped out all over the snow and told these for national students to look at what I have and this is a father just coming up here to have a look around with his daughter he’s not doing any actual hiking but if a storm comes in he and his daughter can camp in perfect safety for three days. they then apologize to me for dumping out my Ruck but these for national students were wearing running shoes and light clothing and would be dead in 30 minutes from now if not have simple things that will keep you alive. I had a three million candle stick flashlight that could be seen from the space station. If helicopters above my head I can not hear a thing but they can see 3 million candle stick of power. As well I am a scuba diver and I have flashbangs with pretty colours smoke and shows where you are also carry water ink packs in a variety of pretty colours . I have an emergency strobe light that will be instantly recognized as an OSS signal strobe that will be instantly recognized by any equipment used in rescue and or lost and found people. I always remember to place my cell phone in a plastic ziplock. My buddy made a mistake and he told me that the only thing that he was thinking as he was flying through the air was thank god we have a working cell phone. he was thinking about how different things would have turned out if I was not on board that day the answer is dead . It was getting dark but spotted the SOS strobe right away and wasted no time getting directly to us . He never did that again he bought a big pack of Ziploc bags and used them always.
I told him that I used all of the ziplock bags in everything because it on top of keeping this dry they work as a flotation device for your backpack that has everything in it .
Dry clothes and bags for the dirty ones plus the enormous amount of uses they would have in a survival scenario .
Everyone in my family has a survival pack in the trunk of their motor vehicles just in case you are going to be living here for a while. Cheap hammocks are a great way to not freeze on the ground. Never cheap out with the food get the best for nutrition and long shelf life . Your life will depend on you have this to use in the case of any detention . If it hits the fan you only want to be grabbing your family and not have to return home for any reason. This will hopefully get you well ahead of the people who are not Organized .
As a mariner I know exactly how to dispose of a dead body so it will never be seen again including the feet.
There are many reasons why people drowned in a body of water. Most of the time they had no clue as to the simple things that would have helped people survive .
As a scuba diver every single dive that you will ever take you can find a book with what to do to achieve your goal in surviving that dive .
Stupid people watch others who thought they were doing the same thing but instead they were sucked into the mountain and are now traveling through a fast moving water tube that will take you to the furthest depths of the ocean. You new home.

Hmm, while it's great that we can use DNA in these cases, I don't love that DNA from pap smears is kept on file. That seems like a bit of a breach.

I agree, consent is the key. I'm in the UK and I don't know if our samples are kept. I certainly haven't given them permission to keep mine. No one should be giving their DNA away so freely without very good reason, in my opinion.

This video is a bit much. I see all the effort put in which is great, but the repetitive "foot" shots in the "lab" are unnecessary and unpleasant to look at. Of course viewers should expect to see unpleasant things in a crime documentary, but this was a lot..and of the same thing no less which made it uninteresting. The only other thing that bothered me a bit was the video in the background of the guests speaking. We understand the story is about feet in water, it's not very necessary to have additional footage of feet and water playing behind someone. This makes the documentary look very "busy" and it really don't look nice anyway. A plain background would look much better and keep the focus of who is speaking rather than having a distraction behind them. Other than that, good job and best wishes!
