  • This is the true life story of Kris Paronto along with a group of elite former military operatives stationed at a secret CIA base in Benghazi the night militants attacked.
Kris Paronto - “Tanto” as he is affectionately known in security contracting circles - is a former Army Ranger from 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment and a private security contractor who has deployed throughout South America, Central America, the Middle East, and North Africa. He also worked with the US Government’s Global Response Staff conducting low-profile security in high-threat environments throughout the world.
Kris was part of the CIA annex security team that responded to the terrorist attack on the US Special Mission in Benghazi, Libya on September 11th, 2012, helping to save over 20 lives while fighting off terrorists from the CIA Annex for over 13 hours. Kris and his fellow brothers-in-arms story is told in the book 13 Hours written by Mitchell Zuckoff.

First, thank you Tanto for the courage and resilience you and your team each gave on that fateful night Which I hope the film was able to capture and embody the very spirit of patriotism and selflessness that your entire team of brothers. As a survivor of that night, your actions in the face of danger in both the rescue attempt and defensive stance in my opinion were nothing short of heroic. I felt the film did an excellent job capturing each one of the men having such a dedication to duty and an unwavering commitment to protecting others that will only serve as an inspiration to all those who watch or read the book. I also hope that in the aftermath we as a nation did not drop the ball again but made sure to honor the sacrifices you and your team made, so you and the others knew we as a nation were and still are deeply grateful for your service as a solider and contractor. The display of bravery in those 13 hrs in the midst of chaos is a accurate example of the true meaning of patriotism-putting oneself on the line for the safety and well-being of others. I commend each one of you for the incredible strength and determination in the face of adversity are a testament to the indomitable spirit for your fellow brother in arms and this nation. Thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your unwavering dedication to defending our country and its values as a Army Ranger, Army National Guard and obviously a CIA security contractor having Uncle Sam's back. Each member of that night are a true American hero, and the big 🇺🇸🖕your team handed out to each threat in Zombie land will never be forgotten, Since I have the book, blue ray disc and digital format.
the presence of Jack, Rone, Tanto, and Boon played a crucial role in mitigating the severity of the attack, symbolizing resilience in the face of adversity. The events surrounding that night, were complex, and it's important to recognize the depth of the situation beyond a simple narrative of tragedy and heroism. I truly hope that leaders at the time comprehended the need to delve into geopolitical complexities, bureaucratic challenges, and the human toll of violence to improve future safety measures. It's essential that we honor the memory of those lost and prevent similar incidents by continually learning from those past mistakes and continually reassessing security protocols so each one of the men and women watching Uncle Sam's best interest, That request or assistance for help will come when asked. I believe Michael Bay effectively captures the facts of that night and the unfortunate result of Clinton dropping the ball again. I don't apologize if my comment offends those who believe then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reacted promptly and appropriately; when she hadn't. that wasn't my intention. However, I suggest you pansies definitely consider the fact that Hillary has a history of being one who drops the ball often, for example, the 30+k in emails and As a first lady when she failed to keep her husband and then US President happy, as a result Monica Lewinsky was shot As she went above and beyond what was expected as an Whitehouse intern and patriotic duties. The point is when Hillary Clinton drops the ball, it's not good news.

my dad was a Vietnam veteran, he served in the navy from 1968 to 1974. He told me stories of the good people he served with and what it was like when they came home. I made it a habit that if I ever saw a Vietnam veteran, I would thank him and shake his hand. My father who instilled that recognition of merit in me, helped lead to one of the most touching moments in my life. I think I was 16 years old and at an amusement park here in OKC. I saw a gentleman that had his army jacket on, long hair, etc the archetypal Vietnam veteran look. It just so happened we ended up in the bathroom at the same, while washing our hands I asked if he served in vietnam. He got pretty defensive and cursed a few times at me and I just said, “I just wanted to thank you and tell you welcome home Sir”. He cried.. which made me cry. And I can neither confirm nor deny that I have a tear in my eye remembering this story. To Mr. Paronto, thank you for telling the truth. I hope one day the people responsible will be held accountable.

QRF (quick reaction force) is a basic part of standard US military doctrine and battle unit construction. Fighter jets could have made it to Benghazi in a little over an hour from Italy to help save US citizens under attack in a battle that lasted 13 hours. The QRF fighter jets were ready to go, but the order to launch was never issued, which means help never arrived. Sort of the opposite of "quick" in the QRF doctrine.
The US government lied about Benghazi being a protest over a video on RUclips rather than a terror attack on the anniversary of 9-11, which we had advance warning of an impending attack. Next the US government forced the US military to lie and say that there was no way to support the Benghazi staff in time i.e. arrive soon enough to help. Help never arrives it never leaves the base...the order to go should have been given and if they arrive in time to help, then the bad guys pay the price. If they arrive too late, then the help had no impact on the battle, but we know we did our very best to support our people. TOTALLY CORRUPT GOVERNMENT. Politicians lied and others died...

11:40 this was probably my favorite part of the movie which, by the sound of it they did a pretty damn good job of re-enacting. I consider it my favorite part because it drew a *very* deep emotional connection out of me. I know that feeling all-too-well. That final moment, the moment where the Grim Reaper and Salvation are one in the same for just a brief moment. The moment where no better word than simply "exhausted" can describe. A moment where you don't want to die, but you're so tired you accept and almost welcome for it to be over. I cried *hard* during that scene because it brought me back to a similar time, and in that moment, I felt connected to not only the actor, but you yourself.
No doubt your hell was worse than mine that day, but still a moment I wish no person will ever have to experience. You and your team's strength and courage were otherworldly that day, no words can describe the admiration and respect I have for you all.
