    I just came from your presentation with eShadowing and I'm so thankful to have gotten to hear your story! I never thought dermatology would be a specialty I would be interested in but I'm definitely going to consider it now. Lots of great advice, thank you!

    How do you find places to shadow? I would love to do that just to see if I'm genuinely interested in the field. Thank you for providing all of this info!

    Is pa school first come first serve for spots like med school? Or do they review them all at once or as they come in?

    Hi, I am currently majoring in public health and I want to go to pa school but I need to get my prerequisites done I was thinking of doing them at a community college because I graduate next year but I am not sure if pa schools look down on community college

      Hi! I’ve been doing research and I think that if you do a few classes with a community college, it’s fine. PA schools only feel a ehhh if you take a LOT of prerequisites, especially science prerequisites at a community college.

    I am really interested in neonatal and dermatology PA, but how does someone go about asking to shadow someone they don’t actually know?

    • @LauraCoralPAC
      @LauraCoralPAC  2 года назад +1

      It’s tough. I cold messaged a bunch of people on different PA forums/ FB groups, etc. Eventually, a few responded. You may need to get creative with reaching out and introducing yourself to a few offices or join some pre-pa groups.

    How many schools did you apply to? I am too old to wait another year and my pre-req's will be in jeopardy of me repeating them. I've been working in the medical field for over 15yrs. I am hoping to take the GRE this July. My GPA is not going to get me in the program.

      Good luck! Having 15 years in the medical field is a huge asset, so don’t underestimate it!

      @@LauraCoralPAC Thank you for responding. I finished my personal statement and the letters of recommendation are coming in. All that is left is answering each schools questions and then paying the application fees. I'm really hoping to get accepted even if I haven't taken the GRE yet.

      @@LauraCoralPAC whats the most approachable way to get the 500 hours with patients ?

    • @LauraCoralPAC
      @LauraCoralPAC  3 года назад

      @@marianag8043 there are multiple ways to get patient care experience. I did clinical research, but some of my peers worked as paramedics, medical assistants, or even volunteered at their local hospital/clinic.

      @@stephl1722 Not sure. I would recommend speaking with a premed or pre-pa counselor/advisor.
