Hello sir, I'm glad I found this video and it's 2020 this year too! I can't believe I could still find a video of this coffee machine since it's been out for about 10 years I believe? I have the exact same coffee machine you had in the video and I bought it many years ago and only used it few times because I was afraid of using it due to the smell of motor in the water that came out from the machine. I didn't throw or give it away, I still have it sit inside the closet. lol I really wanna use it again. Do you think I should use the descaler to clean it even though I would say my machine is kinda brand new? Have you ever had the problem of smelling motor in the water even after you cleaned and rinsed it before first use? Did the smell go away? Thank you very much.

Hi Raven and glad to be of service.
It's a great little coffee maker and 10 years isn't really old in terms of coffee machines.
Yes do by all means give your coffee machine a deep clean with the Ecodecalk. Remember to let it run through the whole cycle. Then give it a few rinse cycles like I did in the video.
It's a very simple machine to look after and if it's been in the cupboard for years it needs a good clean out.
I've not come across the metallic/motor taste you mentioned?
Maybe it hasn't ever been deep cleaned before?

I brought the second machine on a second hand site during the first fortnight of lockdown here (Ireland) and have enjoyed a morning and afternoon coffee every day since.
It was getting slow and I've descaled for the first time since. Back to great coffee.
I noticed that you still had the steamer light on while you were making your cup - I've done this accidentally and found it was as good - too hot too.

Hi Seano, it's great to get that gunge out of the coffee machine. It works so much better after a good clean.
