Thank you for posting these great walking tours! My elderly parents have FOMO (fear of missing out on things) and you save them thousands of dollars on airfare, hotels , etc. Not to mention the hassle inside all the airports. They can relax on the couch in their air conditioned home and still enjoy the beautiful sights. Thank you! 🙏🏻

I doubt you live in Rome. This is the hottest summer in Rome ever, as Rome hits its highest temperature and breaks the record of 41.8 degrees (107.24 F) set last year. You just have to believe in science and believe in human-caused climate change.

It’s hot not as hot as last years , yesterday peaked at 2.30pm in Rome at 33.7*C its not been over 40*C in Italy this year . We have moved away from weather stations to UV satellite which gives a ground reading.. think walking on a hot beach , we are now giving the sands temperature as ambient temperature. We were there several years ago and they were issuing heat warnings etc. in July and it was hot but being from the Mid Atlantic US it wasn't that bad. We had a great time and just delt with the heat as we would at home. Where the trouble comes is people out in the heat that are not used to doing that. They work in the AC and live in the AC and only go outside for a few minutes a day. Those folks are subject to heat related problems especially if their older or overweight. The heat just crushes them.

You just have to dress for it. Wear shorts, sleeveless shirt, hat, a tshirt acoss your face covering your nose, mouth and neck, sunglasses with side blinders and last but not least... sunscreen on your arms. This works great for me. It also helps to wear headphones and listen to some tunes. 🎶 🎵

We do get heatwaves to the same degree in Ontario, but the difference is I would usually only go outside in the morning, evening, or for brief periods of time or to swim. Whereas in Rome we were doing an 8 hour walking tour! Sweat wicking fabrics and tons of water were key. I did find the heat affected me though and I was pretty exhausted after all that.
