When I started brewing I did 2 batches a month, lots of experimentation. When we got a kid I brewed every 2 months. When the little one started running around that went down to 4 times a year, when it started talking I only brewed 2 times a year. And I have not brewed even once since the second kid arrived. Thankfully refrigerated kegs last. And when the second to last keg dries up I will get a few simple ingredients and brew a generic pale ale, a great beer for every occasion.
Finally you’re back! I know this feeling well, I often had a two months hiatus during busy summers. But the excitement of getting back to it is just awesome and it makes you appreciate it more.
Welcome back! I'm on a similar slump too. Been 3 months since I've brewed. Down to the last bit in the keg of my backyard hop ipa. Got my equipment all cleaned up last week and planning to brew this week.
@ElementaryBrewingCo I picked up ingredients for 3 batches. A hoppy pilsner, an Altbier, and a Dark Czech lager. Don't think I'll get all 3 going now but plan to in the next month.
If you had a neighbor that was into "chasing the craft" (wink, wink), youcould make a nice sugar-head whiskey from those spent grains! And also quality control the beer, as a side benefit...
Welcome back teach! Good to have you back. I've been having trouble finding time to brew as well, but it's time to get back in the game.
So glad to have you back!!
