Have same problem with sons 06 eclipse. Can’t wait to do this and flush out a few things to get it as close to decent as possible for 136k miles. Hope it lasts him a while :)
Just got everything replaced and in order, but my worry is that the gasket causes the cover to be raised a bit. I'm assuming this will be fixed once I tighten the cover down, but the old gasket didn't have this gap. I'll reinstall and tighten things down and see how it looks.
You need to take off the intake in order to get to the valve cover. It's a weekend full of work. Be ready for a long weekend if changing it. I'm in the middle of doing mine now.
I didn't look through a whole bunch of comments, but in the video you didn't touch bases about using a torque wrench or double checking specs? I'm about to do my 07 eclipse gt 3.8v6, and it seems the last guy who did one first broke the water/dust cover (whatever, but still, tells me he didn't know much about this particular engine.), and by the way the gasket is squeezed it seems like he tightened it too much, which I'm sure you know degrades the integrity of the seal. All in all good video, but it may be good to make mention of torque weight at least on some stuff =).
Hello, good video but can you show where the drain plug is for the tranaxle? I looked under but I can't find it. It's the same as the mirage here, I have a 2000 1.8 mirage btw

Great video! I feel a lot better about doing this today now. Any chance you've done the timing belt/water pump?
Very informative video found exactly what I was looking for !
Thank you so much!, now i can fix it myself 😁
Incredible. Thank you SO much for the tutorial. I can't believe how easy this is on this car.
i am happy to hear that, great ~! thanks for watching.

Do you know if for changing the valve cover gasket on the 3.8L V6 the intake plenum needs to be removed at all or it can be done with out removing it?

Hey sr could you make a video describing what to do when your eclipse 2006 2.4 breaks timing belt and blend valves?

Hello,
I have one question, when you put the rubber seals on, do you clean all the oil off of the surface first? Does that matter? Thank you.
Awesome I got the same model I got oil in my spark plugs about to get this done then the thermostat

when you started it after oil dropped down did some white smoke kick out the exhaust?
White smoke? If it's a bunch of smoke and continues that's a head gasket leak.
Subscribed because you are working on engine like mine and you are so good ❤️❤️❤️
