Don’t forget that North wanted him, too, but he refused. So he could have won flags with North, Brisbane or Port, and possibly added to the flags that those teams won. But he chose Collingwood…
As a Collingwood fan, it's an absolute outrage that Port can't wear their prison bar jumper in the AFL. Embarrassing the way McGuire & our club carry on about this. Manchester United, Liverpool & Arsenal seem to work it out in a league 1000 times bigger than AFL. I'd love to see Port tell the AFL to shove it & wear it for all games & make them take you to court.
@@spade6240 very true sir. Collingwood had magpies first and are deserving wearers of the black and white. However Port were formed 21 years before Collingwood and only request to wear their iconic jumper once a year. not to hard to do is it?
counts every possession ? At the time, the SANFL was considered to be the 2nd best League in the entire continent... Only the VFL was better. And there were some clubs in the VFL (Carlton, Essendon) that thought that Norwood & Port Adelaide would be more than competitive in an expanded VFL that would've dropped a couple of Melbourne based teams to accommodate the 2... But "saner" heads prevailed... South Melbourne & Fitzroy nearly went bankrupt and had to leave the state, Footscray had to re-invent itself & then they added a team from WA...
Nathan Buckley is a true legend of Australian Rules football.
he is still to young to be a legend...but yes i agree...
Hodgey is better
He is a pro genius!
His old man sent him across the state to play for port adelaide. Let that sink in... just goes to show how respected this club is
bucks was a great footy player
All class. 👏🏻
Best looking guernsey in Australian football.
The Collingwood board what have you done???
Bring him to the power as midfield coach
A shame he didn’t stay with Port Adelaide
He was too good not to move on to the AFL
Bucks would be a good assistant at the power
I bet bucks will be ports next coach after hinkley
i hope so. I called it a few weeks ago.......either Buckley or Basset.
too bad Port lost him to Collingwood. had he stayed with Port......or even Brisbane, he wouldve had an AFL premiership.

Probably cost himself 3-4 flags by staying with collingwood
Should have went back to Port and lead the squad
Too good a footballer to make a decision like that to ruin what should have been. Sad.
