Numbers for iPad: Adding Graphs and Charts to Spreadsheets on iPad

Numbers has many different options for graphs and charts to choose from and adding these to your project is done in a couple of different ways. First is to press the (+) button in the menu bar and select the graph button. You will find 2D, 3D, and interactive graphs and charts in multiple different color styles. Once selected, you will be prompted to add data from your spreadsheet by selecting specific rows and columns. The second way is to select the specific rows and columns you want first, then hit "Create Chart" once the options bar has come up.
If you need to edit your chart or graphs reference points to include or excluded data after it has been created, tap your chart or graph then select "Edit References" in the options bar once it comes up.
Once you have a graph or chart in your project some extra customization may need to be done. Most adjustments to the graphs and charts are done through the paint brush tool. Here you will be able to change your chart or graph from 2D to 3D, change the chart type, adjust the color schemes, add a title, legend or border, change the fonts and also alter the gridlines, tick marks, and names of the X and Y axis. Through the paint brush you will also be able to adjust the arrangement of your graphs and charts to place it in front of or behind other objects in the project.

Okay, I'm going a little crazy here. Does anyone know how to edit the data in the charts? Not the ones with the tiny boxes, but like the bar charts. I tap it, a blue thing shows up saying tap to edit, and then I tap that and a gray one shows up that says to tap or drag to edit it, but it just isn't working. Tapping it and hitting edit references does nothing either. Someone, please help . . . I used to use this all the time and swear that was a feature but now I can't for the life of me figure it out!

How do you select a specific range of cells? For example, I made a spreadsheet of my change I saved up over the years. They are separated into coins and the values. Also, I have different amounts for wrapped and unwrapped coins. I want to make a chart that shows my total from unwrapped, wrapped, and all but I need to deselect my coins.
