Fantastic video! I absolutely love Wood Turtles. I have a captive bred pair that I bought as hatchlings and am looking forward to their first clutch of eggs this year Thx for the video
Great tip about keeping the location private. I live in NJ know and know of a thriving population of Spotted Turtles, but I keep the location secret from the potential poachers.
As a kid I used to go on vacation from Brooklyn NY to a place in Snydersville, PA (Pocono Mountains). We found tons of Painted Turtles, Musk Turtles and Snapping Turtles, but only once did I come across a Wood Turtle. Same environment, on the bank of a stream. Such an exciting find!
I've dreamed of finding these. There is still some disjunct small populations in NJ but I've never been able to put in the time yet. They're such cool unique turtles. Nice video!
thats awsome man love to see it i know of few homes for woods here in pa and i love them i would never tell some one man i learned that hard way with some eastern box turtles trying to keep pa beautiful . i check on them every year the one place is getting built up cause its off a main high way. but they are still there for now
Wow, those are some absolutely stunning individuals. Clemmys and glyptemys species are some of the most unique turtles, huge shame about them being so poached so often though.
I have a question about cleaning my boots with the bleach solution. I want to get in the habit of doing so. Where should I dispose of the water when I'm finished disinfecting?
Nice finds! That creek is stunningly beautiful! That water is so pristine. I assume spring fed?
Yes, Sir. It is gorgeous, I agree.
I'd show more of the area, but I'm trying to keep any landmarks hidden in case of someone looking for clues to take animals.
holy moly! how bout those gorgeous red legs?! I thought our eastern boxes were brilliant but this guy was stunning! thanks
I'll admit Box Turtles are my favorite. I always love finding one and you never know what color they will be.

Dang, those Wood Turtles are colorful, mellow too. Nice finds! Cool to see Wes out kicking it.
Yeah, I miss him. I don't see him enough. Bittersweet watching them grow up.
@@BobFergusonsFascinature Yeah, kids have a way of speeding up that life clock somehow.
Need to protect these.
Use to find them in N NJ. 12 miles from NYC.
