Thanks for the very detailed review as usual Hugo. I really appreciate all the effort you put into making and editing your videos. For the price, this scope is actually very good value. And even though the bandwidth is a little overstated, 15MHz is still very good for that price. It's amazing how technology has evolved so fast and how cheap some test equipment for hobbyists are now. 10 years ago we would never have imagined we could get this type of scope for such a great price.
Hi, my pleasure!, you're so right! I remember that when I was kid, the electronic kits where so expensive... with the price I paid my JBC 40W soldering iron, I could by a soldering station with today prices... well, this part I think still is true 😁 thanks for watching!
I'm looking for DSO TC3, but this one appear to be more interesting for the price. I want to use this for a CMP/CKP signal viewer, and maybe for check if vehicle CAN signal (500Khz) have noise or is clean. Do you mind this one is good for my purpose?
Thanks for another thorough review. 15MHz is not bad considering it's advertised at 18MHz. That's actually a conservative marketing claim for this type of scope as most claim bandwidth more than 3X their real bandwidth. The signal is still useful at 18MHz. This scope is only US$28 *without* the battery, though. It's currently $36 with the battery and I'd consider the battery a necessity with this type of scope as it's annoying needing to have it plugged in all the time. The battery also gives you full isolation, which avoids potential problems with some circuits. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but it seems to me that this SigPeak/Zeeweii company is actually innovating in this product category and not just putting older, slower designs into nicer packaging like Fnirsi sometimes does. I hope Zeeweii continues to improve their sub-$100 products and perhaps one day make a scope to challenge the Fnirsi 1014D, which is surprisingly overpriced for what it does and how much it costs to manufacture (no power supply, for example). I think it's sad that Fnirsi's 1014D has been so successful as paying just a little more money would buy a vastly better scope from another brand. I've seen 1014D's priced at close to $200, which is simply a rip-off, in my opinion. Good luck to Zeeweii ;). I'm not opposed to a USB-powered bench scope and think it's actually a good idea for reducing the cost, *but* the resulting product should sell for less than $100, not $180.
Hi, thanks for the comment. I have to confess that I order the non battery version and they sent me the full kit, as I said before, I was in contact with Zeeweii. So, it was not sent free, but at least I received the complete kit with battery, but I only notice that it existed the version without battery after you post, I went back to check what I had bought. Regarding the price vs what you get and even if I'm a FNIRSI fan, the DSO138 PRO with 200Khz bw and 2.5MSa/s cost arount the $35, if compared with this one that has "18Mhz" and 40MSa/s and 8 waveforms function generator, there is no decision to make, the DSO155 PRO is a non brainer purchase. I think Zeeweii is still a very small company, thats the idea that I got, but with some talented people on R&D because they have their own models. I hope that they grow enough to create a decent support channel to the end user and to be able to improve their products. They are quite ahead of the rest of the competition. Thanks for watching!
Most of these little scopes always seem to fall flat one way or another and range is usually exaggerated. This one actually seems reasonable. Plus it has a built in function generator! Just purchased with your affiliate link to be a little stand in and portable unit until I fix my BK Precision. Thanks for the work you put into the videos and reviews. Always love listening to someone who clearly has a passion for what he does and the equipment he uses.
Hi, thank you so much for your nice comment! It really matters to me. I'm so glad that the review helped you and thanks once more for the support of using the affiliate link ❤ and for watching this video.
Hi, this is a different kind of beast 😁 DSO-153 is more polished, better UI and case, this has more horse power, support 18Mhz (in the 18Mhz version) is still that almost DIY kind of look, but it is a very nice oscilloscope, if you need the bandwidth, I certainly stay with this one. Thanks for watching.
Hi, I think you're comparing apples and oranges 😁 for me, the et120m is a more complete solution and with a higher bandwidth support. This doesn't make the 154pro a bad device, not at all, for the category it is comparable (dso150, dso152, dso153, dso138) is in my opinion one of the bests. Thanks for watching!
There are several oscilloscopes available in this price range, SCO2, DSO152, DSO153, DSO510, etc. They all make various claims about sampling rates and bandwidth. Have you tried any of the others to compare? I’m wary of the false claims that are common selling tactics.
Yep, I got a Rigol 1054Z then realized I don't want to accidentally destroy it while learning. So then I got the handheld Owon 100Mhz model -- then I heard of the Zoyi zt-702(&3)s and decided I didn't want to blow up my still rather expensive Owon scopemeter, so I got those as well (giving my old zt-702s to a friend that has never had a scope and works on cars). ...... THEN I heard of these ZeeWeii scopes that seemed like the real deal compared to some others like Fnirsi, so I got this 1054 Pro model as well as their '125' Mhz single-channel model (1511G, IIRC?). I'm finding that these ZeeWeii's don't seem to be the normal 'toy-kit' types at all - they seem very real indeed! So in the future I'll continue to support ZeeWeii for their innovations in this cheaper market. ...And yes, I'm a firm member of TEA - Test Equipment Anonymous. 👍
Thank you for this review. I had just picked one from online store in our country. This is my first bought oscilloscope and i really love it. You have done great review of this. Nice done
Noted the USB to serial chip.... That suggests either a capability to flash the firmware, or to externally control the device, or to output to a PC....
Hi Juan, this one for sure. I love the DSO-152 and all the design, user experience, but this can go up 18Mhz... is more than many portable oscilloscopes and multimeters like the 2C23T or the ZT702S. Let me give you some news, very soon that will be available also the DSO-153 with 1Mhz bandwidth, should be released in next weeks. Thanks for watching.
Hi - very good and very convincing review. If I buy this DSO154 Pro scope I will certainly use your affiliate link. I am comparing this to another small scope which lists a sample rate of 1Msps 12Bits - can you advise what this "12-bit" sampling feature does and how does it compare to the DSO 154 ? Thank you.
Hi, in this size, up to $50 I don't know any better than this. You can have a better ADC but if you have 40 to 80 times less samples per second, that can be a bummer in terms of data to display the waveform. Is true that this a bigger sampling rate because it goes up to 18Mhz, but, it will have the same sampling reate in lower frequencies like the ones in its price range. So, in this price range, I would not mind a lot of the 12-bit. At least this is my way of seeing it, until someone show me that I'm wrong. Thanks for watching.
I also ordered this oscilloscope. There is a small question: the value of the output impedance of the internal function generator? Is there a buffer amplifier at the output of the generator?
@@TechCornerTV I just received a response from the seller - the impedance is 150 ohms. This, in my opinion, indicates the presence of a buffer operational amplifier!
Do you happen to know know max voltage this can measure? I see one value for x1 and another for x10. But don't know the difference between the two. Safe to think that 40v is actually the max.
Hi, the max voltage is 40V, but if you use the 10x attenuation of your probe, you'll be able to measure voltages up to 400V. It doesn't depend on the oscilloscope but on the probe, so, please be sure that you select 10x on the your probe switch. If you do so, please change the probe compensation to 10x in the oscilloscope so it converts the values according the 1x or 10x. Thanks for watching!
I just bought it and after i saw its great signal generator i was impressed ! This sounds so good ! One question though, is it updatable as other or does it run on this firmware for ever ?
Hi, I think it is upgradable, but to be honest I'm not aware of any update for any of the Zeeweii devices. Regarding the DSO153 it really is a master piece, I think zeeweii is totally underrated, they have quality products for very good prices. Thanks for watching!

Great review and I'm currently awaiting delivery of this item. :) Is there a proporietary plug/connector to inerface with the function gen. output pins, or does rely solely upon use of probe type clips?
Answering my own question posed above: I've sourced a 'Clever Little Box CLB-JLB75 CLB-JL-75 BNC Female to Terminal Block 2 Pin' (the actual eBay description @ £2.68 inc. shipping) that has twin screw terminals on one end and a male BNC connector on the other. Using the screw connector to secure it to the function generator pins of the DSO154 PRO, this male BNC will allow interface with any kind of female BNC flying lead terminating in alligator clips and/or banana plugs as required.
Hi Andrew, I saw you answer also and I also have a few of these connector laying around here somewhere :) I'm glad you solved your issue. Thanks for watching. PS - Sorry the late reply, but time is really short these days.
Thank you so much. It seems that 15 Mhz is only suitable for periodic signals. The method could be sixteen possible offsets from the timing signal, allowing a 1Mhz analog-to-digital converter, hence the price? Could this be the role of the multiplexer?

I had assumed this would be possibe from within the menu, but have been unable so far, to finding a setting? Something I need to do externally via a bespoke potentiometer arrangement?
Hi Andrew, yes, you need to do it externally. These cheap devices normally have a fixed amplitude on the function generator output. Thanks for watching.
Nice run down. Thanks. However, you are using a 50 ohm cable and your generator probably has a 50 ohm output, but you have not terminated with 50 ohms at the scope. This impedance mismatch will lower the BW you measure. Try it again with a 50 ohm passthrough (or even 'T') terminator.
i think thia ia better option for me, i recently got the DS0138 DIY kit, on completion the screen is all white and unuseable. thanks for the detailed content.
Hello! Sorry for late reply, house move and vacations. I agree with you, the DSO2512G is really a very good device with a very nice price vs quality vs features ratios. Even so, for really cheap starter oscilloscopes, this one has the highest bandwith of the bunch! Thanks for watching 😁
Hi again, sure, thanks for watching anyway. This is a comment just for reflection, the one thing in the world that you can't buy or get back is time. This video took about 8 to 14 hours to be produced, counting, recording, edition, photos, etc. Since I have a daytime job that I love, I usually work at night, some times up to 3 to 4am, so, you can imagine this takes me 2 to 4 nights to get it done. The revenue I got from those ads until the time of this reply and after 4 months being live was about 1/4 of the cost to buy and to deliver this to me. If you count the time I spent in here and I will never recover, you can understand that the ads are a smell help for at least don't have monetary negative result of this. I wil have this device paid in 1 or 2 years after of the video launch time. I don't do this for the money, neither the equipment, I don't need this oscilloscope when I have a Rigol MSO2102A bought before I even had the channel. But what I found out in the past and motivates me to spend my time in this is, that electronics is a very expensive hobby and when you don't have a lot of money, a informed decision helps. That's why my videos are long and try to show everything I can, about the device, that takes time and money, but I do it because I consider myself a priviledge person, I leave in europe with social security and "free" medical health and the videos are also seen by people that have to decide to spend the money to buy this or have better clother or food, If I can help in that decision process of a very scarce money resource, I'll be happy and the goal was accomplished. That's why there are ads, is a trade off so you help me also, at least, I will spare only my time and somewhere in the future pay the cost of the equipment, allowing this way to continue the cicle to have better information. I understand that on a perfect world ads will not exist, but if you find that world just let me know... 😁

Hi, ok thanks for the tip, I do appreciate it. I will try not to forget the next time 😁 thanks for watching.
PS - Sorry for this late reply, time to reply is really short these days.
@@TechCornerTV No worries!
u8 fpga Lattice?
Hi, sorry didn't get the question, can you explain better? Thanks for watching!
i think thia ia better option for me, i recently got the DS0138 DIY kit, on completion the screen is all white and unuseable.
thanks for the detailed content.
Hi, I loved this little fellow, nice specs, acceptable bandwidht and killer price. Thanks for watching!
@@TechCornerTV I just received my DSO today after so much testing i can tell you that I have no buyer regret, Thanks for the guide.
mate maybe u soldered something wrong
but either way that scope is outdated and weak as heck (in terms of dirt cheap scopes)
Do you know if Sigpeak is going to realise a tablet oscilloscope in the near future?
Hi, it will be great if they do, I don't know but I can ask 😁 Thanks for watching!
@@TechCornerTV Indeed, I meant "release" in stead of "realise". But would be great if you could ask. Thnx

Hi, just use the captions of youtube, it translates automatically and works pretty well. Thanks for watching.
Can you share the pdf file?
Hi Jess, what PDF do you mean? Thanks for watching.
@@TechCornerTV the handbook, which you showed in min 26:59
我真心建議,預算夠的朋友一次就下手買DSO2512G,這CP值才是最高😊
Hello! Sorry for late reply, house move and vacations. I agree with you, the DSO2512G is really a very good device with a very nice price vs quality vs features ratios. Even so, for really cheap starter oscilloscopes, this one has the highest bandwith of the bunch! Thanks for watching 😁
Mine is gaabbage, Lil bastard won't charge or power on
Hi, maybe is burned in some component... tried to reach zeeweii support? Thanks for watching and sharing
Thumbs down for the amount of commercials

Greetings from Ukraine!
You helped me a lot with the choice and understanding of how this device works. So thank you very much. And although I speak English at the high school level since 1983 - everything is perfectly understandable)).
Ok Karen
