Great reaction! When you were talking about Kevin giving a voice to his cello, it reminded me of a song PTX did just after Avi left last September, before Matt joined them. The song was "Dancing on My Own". In that performance, Kevin sings his heart out through his cello. Please react, if you haven't already.
The compilation was awesome, Kevin is awesome and you are awesome. You need to check PTX and Lindsey Sterling. They made two songs together, AND Kevin and her play Violine and Cello.
I love his videos. I've always heard of making an instrument sing but until I heard him I never really knew what that meant. You can almost hear the words when he plays.
Kevin is one of the most talented people ever!! You are my favorite reactor! Have you reacted to Kevin's cover of "Down" a Marion Hill cover, its one of my favorites!!
Kevin is so freaking talented at so many things it's insane. I also think that he gives a voice to his cello and you can literally hear the words of the song coming through the cello. Thanks for this great reaction. Can you react to his songs Renegade or Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus. There is also a very talented couple that go by the name of Brooklyn Duo that play cello and piano and do covers, it would be great if you could react to their cover of "The Sound of Silence" or their piano/cello cover of Chandelier (Sia), it is gorgeous. 😀
Kirstin's FORMER fiancée. Unless I'm mistaken there's been no update indicating that the marriage is back on. Please correct me if I'm wrong because I really would love to know because it's about Kirstin.
Great reaction. I'm seeing many of my fellow Pentaholics who I recognize on other reactors' channels commenting here on your channel. I'm glad we all have found you, someone knowledgeable with music and singing. New subscriber.
Oh my gosh... I just died and went to heaven. I love Orchestra and piano and they made this have a classical sound but yet have that popular music going in your head at the same time. So Kevin gave me the classical music I love and used to be able to play before I got ill, and he also gave me songs that I would have been singing to when they were popular and I wanted to so badly but again, muscle weakness from this illness prevents a person from controlling their air. I can't sing anymore. I can't play the keyboard, the piano, the violin or the guitar. I think that's why I watch so much RUclips music. But this surprised me. I knew Kevin is classically trained, I just didn't know that this wasn't a solo on that his cello. I love his solos! don't get me wrong. I was just sit to experience something else, and wasn't prepared to hear so many of the instruments I love and hear the words being song in my head to songs that I recognized from the instruments. And it gave you that soaring music that you get with strings! Did you see they have the names of the notes written on the front of the piano keys like you do for your kids when they want to learn to play?! I love how authentic this was! It showed Raw music without all the fancy get ups and gadgets. It showed that people can make sounds come from these things that are beautiful Beyond imagining.
Eric I've never listened to any other version of heart attack. Never heard the original. Just came across Kevin 's version and it almost made me weep. What he delivers is so evocative and sOunds like something that should be the soundtrack of a sad movie. Gonna go listen to it now . 😊
Another one worth watching is Kevin Olusola in "From the Top: Live from Carnegie Hall" - 2005 ruclips.net/video/cg-WQl3YCVY/видео.html This was from when Kevin was 17 years old.
Great reaction. Here's a suggestion for more Kevin that's a little off the typical reaction path: "Kevin Olusola and Jacob Szekely LIVE Shredding Stevie Wonder cover." It's an improv with another cellist. It's also a bit long with some slower "finding our groove" parts. But the good spots are really, REALLY good (and emotional, great chemistry). Maybe a reaction that edits out the slow parts?
If you like Kevin as much as I do (and you seem to) I highly recommend "Void of a Legend" with Kevin and Antoniette Costa. HIGHLY recommended: ruclips.net/video/AOehGyN0UUE/видео.html. (Antoniette wrote and sings the song.)
By the way, I saw this video of Kevin Olusola and Jacob Szekely performing Stevie Wonder's song (goah forgot which one right now) but they both played the cello and gave it a jazzy freestyle that was amazing. Highly recommended!
Please react to Pentatonix Bohemian Rhapsody. It is a phenomenal video. And it shows the level of talent for each of the members, especially match. I know it’s a throwback to when Avi was still with the group, but it is worth it! One of Pentatonix very best.
I've actually never listened to this performance before and it gotta dmit that it blew me away. Thank you for reacting to it, i most likely would never have listened to it otherwise. Have my like, kind sir ;)

I still think Kevin is the musical heartbeat of PTX, in more ways thaN ONE.. ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS MAN.
I read a comment once that said something like: Kevin uses his voice like an instrument and plays his instrument (cello) like it’s a voice. So true!
Every time Kevin plays, it's like the cello itself singing, which I think is awesome.

I personally adore his Triptyq videos!
Totally agree with you, Janna! :D Jerod, I highly recommend checking those out as well.
And you have to listen to Avi Kaplans solo channel. Especially quarter past four. But every song of his is breathtaking. Have a great day my friend

Seriously. It a very difficult think to make any instrument really sing.. I blame it on his saxophone training. Enormous talent.

React to his Sam Smith cover it's awesome
Kevin is so very talented in every aspect of his life. Try watching Demi Lovato's Heartache played by Kevin.
I've actually never listened to this performance before and it gotta dmit that it blew me away. Thank you for reacting to it, i most likely would never have listened to it otherwise. Have my like, kind sir ;)
I wonder if the other musicians come to a KO video thinking "I better bring my A game!"
Not sure why Kevin's work is not viral yet but he is truly gifted and he gifts us with beautiful music 🎶
Your reaction put words to how I feel! Thank you! 😊
That was sooo cool. Kevin very talented. Great reaction.
That was really beautiful
Let's pretend her fiance doesn't exist!
I don't think I've seen anyone react to this one :) Has to be one of my favs!
