I have a Tumi backpack that I bought when I was going to an office every day and traveling frequently for work with a laptop and all the work things like notebooks, planner, and personal doodads. It was more expensive at ~$500-600 range at the time. An investment for sure. But I’ve owned it for more than 15 years now. So the cost was worth it considering how durable it has been. Every time I consider getting a new bag, I compare it to my Tumi and I havent found anything that compares, even if it’s more stylish.
I have the same swiss gear backpack and it's indestructible! I originally got it after I had ankle surgery and had to be on crutches and before then I was NOT a backpack user but it converted me! I used it for about 4 years until I bought another one in a different color and then my husband took over my original one for some of his work gear and he is still using it more than 10 years later. That calpack bag was cute but you'll definitely do much better long term with the swiss gear.
Jujube BRB is my go to!! So comfortable to wear fully packed.Lots of pockets. Machine washable. Light interior to see everything! I vought mine used from Mercari 7yrs ago and it’s still holding up!!
The incase icon is still my jam. 10 years running! But thank you for doing this review. Super helpful. I thought the shoulder straps were a little thin too.
I had mine for only a few months before the handle began fraying away and falling off. We sent it back (spent a decent amount of money sending it back) and got a new one. I’ve only had this one for a month or two and the handle is falling off again.
I was just about to recommend the Swiss, and it popped up in the video :) . So you confirmed that the Swiss is the way to go. I love mine. The other one is cute and i would take it to the coffee shop for sure.
@JuliesPlans they are a little pricey but feel they are worth it. If you need one for a bigger laptop I would advise the large. I use the standard and my iPad pro just fits.
Great video! I am so picky about backpacks. I use them for work, travel, and my active outdoor life. I never go with trendy bags because I always find they are a let down. I like my backpacks to last long enough that I no longer want to look at them, haha. I always focus on the material of the bag, the zips, the back area, and the straps. Some back area section will make your clothes pill if they are too vented or get hot if they are not vented enough.
I bought it for my wife and after just usining it for few trips the shoulder strap has started to come apart. I contact them biut the agent told be we are like two months out of the warranty. I will not recommend the product.
@@JuliesPlans Yes! 😊 Thank you for that, I already have the Swiss on my wish list 😬 Enjoy your weekend. Oh! Not sure if I mentioned it but I’m a Texas girl, born and raised. Just about 3 hours South of you. 😁
I have the Haven Laptop Tote Bag in Birch. I got it almost 2 years ago and absolutely love it for commuting. The quality is AMAZING and it still looks very new :)
Swiss makes the best backpacks... they also have some more minimal looking versions but with the cozy straps and spacious interiors. I may be the proud owner of 3 of those bad boys haha. 😂
I travel for work, and then when i get there, and in and out of ‘office’. I splurged on a peak design backpack (def an investment purchase) and I will never go back!!!! ive used it almost daily for the last 7 months and it looks brand new. I have the 30L so that i can use it as a carryon as well. ive overstuffed it and then some, and it is still comfy during a day of traveling!!! lightly packed, it feels weightless. cannot recommend highly enough.
I was WAITING for you to say THE PADDING on the SHOULDER STRAPS! I have this backpack as well and I was beyond disappointed at how cheap and thin the straps were for the price!
The straps were sooooooo disappointing 😭 like come on. For this price, I expected so much better. But really all you’re getting for the price is an instagrammable backpack 😅
@@JuliesPlansABSOLUTLEY TRUE!! I got a set of luggage as well and when it arrived nicely packaged the bottom of the largest luggage had large deep scraps in the material... like it had been thru a flight or something... drug on the ground. I sent it back! Really disapointing!
My first three years of college I got a new “cute” backpack every year. One because my previous backpack never lasted more than two semesters, and two for that “first day of school” feel. By my senior year I finally bit the bullet on a Swiss gear backpack and I have NEVER looked back. I’m in my last year of grad school and it’s still going strong. I will never NOT recommend Swiss gear!
Thank you for your honest feedback

Tumi backpacks are so good!
I love my Tumi too.
Thank you for reviewing this. I have the same water bottle and I need a bag that holds it!
Dang. Is thinking about buying this and you just confirmed I shouldn’t. It is SO cute! Calpak - fix these issues and I’ll buy! These are important!
I appreciate this video so much, thanks for the honesty. I agree!!

Still using an Oigo backpack that I've had since early 2000's... I've used it all 16 years of my hospital job, for travel and all the things!

I have my eyes on the Prescott backpack from Michael kors. It looks great, has a lot os pockets and it seems to be durable
This was such great timing! We're going back to the office after 4 years of working from home ☹️ so I'm looking for a new work bag!
Ugh. I’m only in office two days a week.
I use a backpack from Jetpens from the navy series. I've had it for work and used it over a year now and very happy with it.
I’ll have to check that one out!

You're just the cutest, Julie! :)
And your nails are gorgeous!
Thank you 😊
Hi Julie! Do you have a video showing the Swiss backpack?
I don’t but it’s linked in the description so you can see all of the details :)

We purchased this and the straps started coming off… seems like a normal issue in the comments.
The black lining is a deal breaker for me.

Such a great durable backpack!
