Am here today, 31st of January 2024, bwana if there's somebody who should be receiving state recognition award from the President, is one Awino Lawi ..... This is a song of Ages and ages to come.... I want to leave this comment here so that anytime somebody likes it, i will come back and listen to it again and again ❤
Reminds me of my late dad. Every morning on ramogi, while he prepared to go for work. I was a child, I thought my father was rich because we never lacked food. It took me time to understand what kind of job my dad was doing 😭😭😭. I miss you Baabaa. Continue to rest in peace
I wouldn't have mentioned this but condition now dictates me to say it in public domain. This nice and entertaining song reminds me of my late and beloved step grand father Mr Michael Okula Ong'udi. He used to sing the entire stanzas off head while grazing the cows as he danced without shy. Mzee kindly just forgive my failure to attend ur burial was not intentional. I couldn't make it to ur burial from Mombasa City to Migori due to total lockdown of both Mombasa and Nairobi due to COVID 19 ( Corona) pandemic. RIP Okula Karoro Malili Od dhiang'.
Reminds me of Sega Lodge I was a toddler almost 5 yrs i could hear this song every evening ikicheza hapo sega lodge...kwara alipenda hii song ilikua lazima umwekee eveready kwa jua
I love old Migori Jazz Band songs. Perfectly played and you guys may not like it 'cause were related to independency. Now Kenyata ideas faded away and the good songs as well. Lamentation songs are in vogue....❤
Who's listening in 2020 COVID-19....I hope I will go home for Christmas mondo amiel siaya kababa....I have never missed home like I do now. Otek yawa Jah bless
Vivid memories of my late dad, and as the sun was setting as we converged at the fire point listening to this great music on our old radio....Dad would tell me many stories of thier youth...the world is so unfair anyway

To my surprise, the new year celebration,2023 the song played at the BLACKWOOD IMARA DAIMA Nairobi Kenya, everybody was dancing with joy... Awino lawi.. you'll forever remain a legend
Thanks for this information because in southern Africa we call these songs, Swahili rhumba from Kenya, not knowing that it is benga from luo, keep it up brothers thus real cream of Africa.
Nice take. The song is actually done in Dho-Luo (literally translates to Luo language) a language spoken across Eastern African by ethnic groups living in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan and Ethiopia, all with minimal variations!
Love the song and the lyrics. Truly ageless, can't even remember when i first heard the song years ago. Anjely Nyar Siaya is just one song that makes Awino Lawi to still stand as a legend among the Luo rhumba music lovers.
It's 8th November 2024,, this song reminds me of my late aunt my mom's sis and her husband,, l was still a teenager but I remember Sunday evening they would host friends and relatives as we listen to this songs

It was just a nice happy song that we listened and danced to while enjoying live bands, until it wasn't. Now, it brings tears and causes such pain to me. What wouldn't I give to see you dance to this song as you sing along animatedly one more time? To see you add to your swag whenever you'd notice I was looking at you while you danced? But life! One day, on a cold early morning, this being that was once so full of life, left....and the world fell silent. Continue resting in peace J, till we meet again.
