I was last in Taiwan in 1969 and above all was struck by how nice the people were, happy, peaceful and above all prepared to tolerate the lunatic political struggle with mainland China. True Chinese folk music and lyrics, based on nature and human love of all things beautiful, especially each other, almost reduced me to tears. My Korean wife was very touched at how her Asian culture affected me, especially as I was a European Catholic. This demonstration of happy, ordinary people is the best thing that's happened to me in our terrible covid lockdown. Thank you.
