    That confirms it. Cornets are definitely more attractive than trumpets.

    Art....simply astounding😀It was totally worth the wait. Having watched all the previous restoration videos, especially the first one, which showed the stuck tuning slides, etc....and ALL that was done to this instrument, including re-silver plating and polishing....nothing short of miraculous. Plus it has a beautiful tone!! Older instruments have a unique, sweet sound. Bravo, Art 👏

    This is missing from the playlist by the way. Great series, bit of panic I couldn't see the ending.

    I did not understand that a longer tube should make it into C? Then into Bb when shortening the pipes? Hm....

    • @Markworth
      @Markworth 2 года назад +4

      The C "attachment" is shorter because it replaces the leadpipe entirely and loops directly into the opposite side of the tuning slide.

      Thanks. I saw it again, and now I understand how it works.

    I just finished watching your Herald trumpet restore videoseries, RUclips suggested your first video, and was hooked. I don't know the first thing about musical instruments, but the technical details it took to put such a fine looking brass wind like the Herald trumpet was so cool, I subscribed to your channel. With detestable reality TV running amok on every channel and streaming platfotm, I don't watch Television at all, I watch artificers on RUclips. Your channel is one of many I will binge watch onmwe e kends. Ivthink,what you do and how you do it is so cool, your videos are informative and a little comprehensively instructive. Thank you for such content.

    Very nice horn. Good work sticking with it when it got difficult.

    Thank you for your videos and for the knowledge that you impart. Although I am not an instrument repairer your videos have helped me to understand more about trumpet that I play and I have particularly enjoyed this series on the Distin Cornet. I was a little 'let down' though as I was wanting to know how you re-made the valve stem corks. I have a cornet from the early 1900's that is in very good condition apart from the corks. I am going to attempt to make new parts from champagne cork! I wonder if you have any advice, especially if you know where replacements can be obtained. I am in the UK. Many thanks again.
