I love that you mention you are a more free form artist. I’ve been in the industry only 2 years and some haircuts still terrify me because so many stylists only show the very technical “by the book” methods which I struggle with sometimes

@@QWERT-kj8dv I wish you to succeed in cutting her hair, I did it to my mother and she liked it . And as a tip from me do not cut it too short from the first time but start by cutting a little by little If it is long you can fix it but if you cut it too short ... 😫 you will be finished And do a dry cut because if you cut it wet it will look the right length and when you dry it will be shorter 😊 good luck.

My husband started using your video tutorial during Covid lockdown and when I went back to my regular hairdresser post Covid she asked me who had cut my hair. I told her that my husband had cut it and she remarked it looked very good and she would give him the prize for the best husband's haircut. Fast forward to today and my regular hairdresser has put her prices up so high that as a senior citizen I can no longer afford her especially since the cost of living today in London is also very high. Enter my husband and he watched your video again and cut my hair as per your tutorial which he says is very easy to follow. That said, it is not to say that I've given up on hairdressers, I'm pretty sure I will be making an appointment with a new one soon. Many thanks, Evelyn

Gorgeous work! The “high 45” was actually 90 degree from the head. Wherever you are on the shape of the head, pulling that hair straight out creates 90 degrees. Your “low 45” was a true 45 degree angle! And on longer layers holding directly up and vertical is 180 degrees. I love your work. I just know angles a bit and wanted to let you know! ❤️ I am more of a cutter than a colorist so that’s why I love your videos. Love learning.

Never have I thought to angle the cutting shears. It definitely makes a difference rather than going straight down. Thanks, I'll definitely try that next time.

OMG I wish I saw this video 8 months ago (I know its 3 days old)! I am having major health issues which have effected my hair. I used to have healthy long hair. It started rapidly thinning and falling out. Out of desperation, I went to a near by, not my usual, hairdresser and she just cut it all, ALL off. No style~just gone. My hair is not growingat all since January (I haven't needed my bags cut since January-no growth).
If I saw this cut, I would have been able to give her better guidance or been patient and had my regular hairdresser cut it. Nice cut! Thanks for sharing this video!

A couple of questions to ask: what brand are your shears and where did you get them? I understand the 45 degree angle your were cutting at the bottom, but at the top, it looked 90 degree or did I misunderstand?

I seem to always get a heavy line on the right side of the hair. I used point cut shears. I don't think I went deep enough. On the texturing part. Wish I could send you a photo of my cut.
