This aria by Verdi was puzzling me because I thought it was an aria that had to be sung by a baritone and a soprano.I looked it up and there I saw a version by dear DiMA H. It's not because I'm not a great lover of PD,but is it a problem of arias to sing There are thousands and thousands between tenor and soprano. I think we have to respect the idea the author had.If the aria is for certain voices it's them who have to make their full magical display. By the way I find Angel Blue really great here.She definitely is a great ópera singer.And ,as I said in the other aria,a good Zarzuela singer but recorded. Or maybe she should try with easier bits,like Coro de Románticos from Doña Francisquita.They called Zarzuela the small gender but it's a very big and difficult one.
In recent tears, Domingo has stopped singing tenor roles in favor of baritone ones, presumably because of the loss of his high notes. It's worth noting that he started his career as a baritone.
@philzmusic8098 I know how he started because my father helped him a lot in those times.Unfortunately,I believe he should stop his carrear definitely after all the scandals.Stop singing,directing or changing tessituras.
