Ugh! Sold out!! I have been waiting and searching every couple of weeks for this release. I'm on email list, bought 3 PastFx pedals in the past. Dern!!!
Aw man, that sucks. Verlie posted about it on their Instagram stories all week, as did I. I don't think she fully understood how popular these pedals were going to be (despite me telling her over and over! Haha!). But she definitely knows now! So there will be more batches on the way...and *possibly* even an alternate colourway 🤫 so keep a close look out!
Awesome pedal! Sounds great, very impressed Verlie was able to fit an entire Moogerfooger into such a small enclosure! Only thing that would make this pedal truly perfect is if the dipswitches were external, but honestly I don't even use expression pedals much at all anyway so it doesn't matter to me. Can't wait to get mine soon!
Oh yeah, that would be awesome. But that would definitely have been a bit too much to ask, I think. 😄 Congrats on your order! You're going to love it. 👍🏼
If you want to play a looper into this sort of pedal, use a "pickup simulator"-- i.e. it will take a low impedance signal and turn it into a high impedance one. I use it on bass to use impedance-sensitive fuzzes in buffered clean loops. They're passive, cheap and simple.
Really cool pedal. It's got "the sound" and really captures the spirit of the original MF-101. However... The PX-101 lacks some of the MF-101's features too. There's no ENV OUT CV output jack. Obviously it's too small to have multiple expression inputs like the original (I do like the dipswitch implementation here), but that's what made the Moogerfoogers really exciting to play with--being able to fully interconnect them with CV. They were "modular" before Eurorack became a thing. Also, the Moogerfoogers were designed to handle both instrument and line level signals. I don't see anything on PastFX's website that indicates that this is the case. All told, the PX-101 is rad, but I don't think it should be priced at $299 like the original MF-101 was when it was in production.
You're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree. Considering the amount of work that's gone into shrinking the original circuit down into a pedal this size, if anything, I think PastFx are under-charging for this! Also, don't forget that the price is in Australian dollars, not US. So it's definitely not as expensive as you might think it is. Obviously there are going to be trade-offs when making such a large and complex pedal this small, and I think the vast majority of people who own, or would want to use, the original Moogerfooger would far rather not take up so much of their boards real estate. The fact that this option even exists is incredible, imo. Let alone the fact that it's affordable! Thanks for watching. 👍🏼
The ones I use at the end of the video? Those are basic, pancake style, Donner ones. You can get them pretty cheap, and they come in packs of 6, I think. Only had one out of two packs fail on me in about 5 years. Not bad going, tbf!
*Check out 'Theo And His Pedals' for his bass demo of this pedal:*

Great demo of this fascinating pedal 👍👍👏👏
Cheers! 😝

@@PedalExperiments Yeah, I agree. I couldn't ask for much more than this, plus the price is very fair. Thanks!
A very diverse fuzz overdrive pedal - great for the Hendrix sound
The Emmergy FX Slowdriver? Hell yes. Such a great sounding distortion!

@@PedalExperiments I missed the part about it being $299 AUD. That makes it about $200 USD. For a copy of an original design, that sounds right to me.
I thought you might have. 😄👍🏼
nice
are these still available?
I think so. At least, it looks like it on their website.
Do you recommend any place to get them short arse jack plugs? I feel the need.
Cheers

@@PedalExperiments The wee metal ones plugged into the Vapour Trail
Ahhh, I'm with you. Those are just ones I made myself from a solderless cable kit. 👍🏼
