Guys like this make life so rich and worthwhile. The nicest of classic bikes, with the finest eye to detail, a proper Englishman with a proper English accent, keeping his culture alive and oh so well with Triumph bikes and a cup of tea!! Love it!!
Yeah Man, What A Cool Video! Do They Always Start So Easily? Gary Nixon Talked About How Hard His Was To Start In His Book But That Was In The '50's. Thank You.
Oh what a garage full of Triumph. I love Triumph motorcycle. In latter 90’s I used to ride my grandfather’s Triumph Tiger 100 1958 model in India Bombay. Great video 👍👍👍
The front brake on the 1963 Bonneville looks like the brake off a 1955 T110. These bikes sure have a lot of work put into them and show amazing dedication to the craft.
Ever since I bought a 1965 Tiger 650 when I was in high school I've been a fan of the old classic Triumphs. Here I am 55 years later and still a fan, I've got 4 of them 😊
Popped in there a couple of months ago as I was stuck on my 58 TR6 rebuild and believe me Kev knows his stuff, really helpful and let me take a few pics. Top Man.
Who the hell would give this video a thumbs down. Even Harley fanatics past middle age give me a thumbs up when I’m riding my t100 Bonnie. Next time I’m in London I’d love to stop by!
Great piece on my hero's bikes. He passed me on the freeway in a pickup truck and gave my '63 the thumbs up back in 1969. Made my day of course. Keep up the good work.
You look and sound like a genuine bloke 👍 Shops like yours are the back bone of society great vid. thanks for showing us your shop 👍. Keep up the great work amigos!
Being a Great Escape/Steve McQueen fan led me to this video. Being a fan and great admirer of fine craftsmanship, this is the best 12 minutes I've spent on RUclips. Ditto on all of the comments here, especially regarding you, Kev--great presentation and great to see a genuine Englander and your passion for what you do. Now, I would love to come to London, I would love to visit your shop, I would love to be a cycle rider, and I would love to have that Great Escape bike! Thank you!!
Great video, nostalgia I’m 67 first bike was 74 Bonny Bought another one , 74 again but too old to kick it over so sadly sold it Now waiting for a bobber black Nothing like the 60s and 70s though
That was such a great tour of your bikes and shop. You are the salt of the earth type of guy and your classic shop is a treasure, don't change anything. BTW I want one of each of the Mc Queen bikes 😉 they are so perfectly done.
The motorcycle industry in Australia went out of its way to destroy its own community. English motorcycles also destroyed their own industry world wide. 15 bike shops all dead. As far as I'm concerned, they can rot in hell.
Epic - Wish I'd been the 20 year old working on these. When I was 17 I bought a TR25 from a shop just like this in Tooting. Glad to see they're still around - magic.
I'm in the states, but I was just in London a few months back. I wish I had known about you guys, I would've come by. Next time I'm there I'll definitely drop in. You've got some really nice bikes.
Three of some of the best looking bikes I've ever seen. I really can't tell which one I like best. Thanks so much for replicating these beauties. PS, I think... The desert racer !
Nice to see a young guy into classic British bikes, my dad's got loads and was worried once all the old codgers have died there'll be nobody that's interested in them...
Fantastic video. Great to see the job you did on the McQueen replica bikes. Triumph is such a great brand and it is good to see someone who is enthusiastically keeping the tradition alive and well.
Great work and vid Kev, lookin forward to our Bike Shed visit in May, and to visit a few shops/cafs, so put the keetle on! Triumph Riders Ireland....Dublin
very cool good on the detail from a 70's trident adolescent, now an exuk in bretagne;0) enjoyed that, rode a perrett special daytona got down to the scrambler weight limit .....and nickel monoshock! mc queens desert sled fantastic!
these guys rebuilt the top end on my 72 T120R. Rebore with 7.5-1 pistons and a new old stock cyc head. Did a cracking job. bike now runs better then it ever has since i bought it back in 1980. would be happy to recomend them to work on any English M/Cycles....
Magnificent collection! Now you need to build a Triumph Rickman Metisse, the bike Steve said was the best handling bike he had ridden (until he bought a Husqvarna that is).
Thank you Kev, absolutely fantastic insight into SMcQ's bikes. I was wondering this week what mods had been made to the ISDT Triumph, and you answered every question and more. Definitely come and see your amazing tribute to Triumph shop, when next down 'The Smoke'.
I have noticed that something might have been my imagination. I had a couple of Bonnies when I was 18-22 in the late 60's -early 70''s living ing Las Vegas NV the rear fenders were closer to the tiress, not so much of a gap which I really liked and the fenders were both painted note chrome and the tanks didn't have knee grips. And lastly the second one I had the Triumph was hand painted on the purple tank,a real classy looker , fast and fun to ride. I would love to have a cup of tea with ya.
Back High School in 76 I rode tricked out 650 single carb Trophy. With fiberglass kit to give it cool hurricane look. Painted Pearl white with silver pins on tank. Bad ass bike with dunstall pipe. Miss this ride. Ride a Suzuki 650 these days. New Triumph's just aren't like the 60's rides. Long live the original . Keep rebuilding them.
A lot of the bikers in California hated Steve McQueen because when you went to a show and if you wanted a bike and he wanted it he would pay two or three times what it was worth because he was a rich actor and then he would want the bike up and it hanger and let it collect dust like all of the rest of them did this is a true story I didn't make it up
Sound bloke I'd say. I'll take you up on that cuppa if I'm in town, yer building good stuff. Good vid getting out and around! More of this please. Nice one
When I saw the price I did the great escape too. Now 15 bike shops are all dead. They weren't cool. The government sold the area to foreign countries. There's nothing cool about these bikes now. Import costs, currency exchange costs, luxury taxes etc. Etc. .
I know that Steve mcqueen was friends with Ken heans who owned a bike dealership in Fleet hampshire. I think he either supplied or modified several triumphs for him. A couple of years later I had a 1961 tiger 100ss .Great bike to ride, but had problems with slipping 2nd gear and bad lights due to the alternator.

I know of 15 bike shops that died recently.
It was mostly their fault.

No, you're not lucky.
110 bike manufacturing companies died.
That's not lucky that's deliberate.
Seriously awesome it’s so great to see proper British bike shops still alive and doing epic keep up the brilliant work :)
Brilliant video ! So great to see enthusiasm for these beautiful old Triumphs. They have something special about them missing from contemporary bikes.
The motorcycle industry in Australia went out of its way to destroy its own community.
English motorcycles also destroyed their own industry world wide.

You showed great restraint not over restoring these McQueen replicas! Kudos!!
