Germany is very nice, and the roads are seemingly very smooth. I visited Berlin with my school for my History class, and the history is fascinating, albeit a bit dark at times.
+DrCassette Car from from Grandma, must be in very good condition, not abused, low mileage. I like them from 90s, solid engineering, like audio equipment. Have 98 Civic, needs suspension work, otherwise excellent daily commuter. Sometimes I really miss Europe, Saxony reminds me of place I used to live, very similar.
I also like the wall of 'green' growing on the side of the road - keeps noise and pollution down. As always in Germany - very clean and tidy. Quite a use of rondos - don't know the actual spelling - to keep the traffic flow at good efficiency, instead of regular intersections (they use stupid 4 way Stop in Ontario, so you need to reduce speed to zero every couple kilometres or sometimes within km, not very fuel efficient).
Please keep the original motor sounds! Of course you would have to drive without the stereo on... but that's just you once and a big gain for every later listener!
Thanks for your feedback! The original soundtrack in this video really was unusable though. Not just because of the radio but also because I had the blower on full power due to the heat and because I do occasionally swear at other drivers like for example the dumb girl in the silver car at 8:09 who was so busy with her phone that she almost didn't see me. The GoPro makes this look less close than it actually was...
As I watch videos of rural towns in Europe, I often wonder why houses were built right beside the roads. I actually love it (even though I should worry about cars running into my house) because it does seem European :) It is very lovely there.
Most of these houses were built before everybody had a car and roads became really busy and noisy. So building the houses further away from the streets would have seemed impractical to the people back then.
I don't know the names of all those bits and pieces... I put the black plastic plate with the double-sided tape onto the windshield, the camera is then clipped into that upside-down.
hey DrCassette what do you think of the canon xl1 it came out 19 from one model. n maybe 17 for the later model. hows the video quality on them for 480 p I need help on if I should buy one or not thanks if you can help me
I can't really figure out what you are trying to tell me... what is up with 19 and 17? I don't have any experience with the Canon XL series. I had a Canon XM2 a couple of years ago, the video quality it delivered was very good.
I also don't like to drive on motorways, because they are paid and I get a much lower fuel consumption travelling at a 90-100km/h speed than doing 130km/h (about 7 l/100km vs 8-8,5 l/100km, on an Audi/VW 2.5 TDI engine - the inline-5 one, not the V6)
I would, if the cassette player wasn't broken. And the old Grundig car stereo is not very service friendly, I can't get it apart to the point at which I could repair the cassette player. Probably just needs new belts.
Yellow lines are only used in construction aeas. They are provisory. Very often they are made from sticky tape. A line that is unbroken tells you not to cross it (no overtaking!). They support the traffic sign with a red vehicle on the left of the black one, meaning "DON'T").
This was recorded in 1080p50, but I upscaled the video to 1440p50 to trick RUclips into using a higher bitrate for their video processing. The standard bitrate they use for 1080p50 video is not high enough for these driving videos, the picture ends up looking terrible.
So pretty! The architecture, the fields and trees -- relaxing to watch, beautiful to see. Thanks for a great video!
very nice. Thanks for the rural road trip
A beautiful part of Germany!
Would be nice to visit these plases again. Only dont want drive alone as anytime. :(

Yes, the history of Germany has a lot of ups and downs...
25 years old car? Respect! My car is 18 years old.
I inherited the 1993 Renault from my grandmother. It spend most of its life in a garage, it just recently reached 80.000 km.

Nice!
If I could drive, I would sometimes prefer back roads, too.
My Mother's maiden name was Hizer... def German... Nice travelling music, by the way..
A relaxing video it is, music suits the drive.
Thank you :)

There is nice scenery, but I notice that the majority of the houses are brown---I find that very odd
The 'brown' actually is dark red. Most old houses around here were build with red brick.
video quality is excellent

What kind of GoPro mount did you use? The image is very nice and stabilized.

Hey, come to the very east of Hesse, thats where i live :D
Thanks for the invitation, but I think that's a bit too far away ;)
Very cool
Nice video! Is this a Clio? Why do you have a white line to mark the center of the windshield?
The white sticker was installed by the previous owner. I have since removed it.
It's a 19.

That's one nice thing here in Germany: Most roads, including the Autobahn, are public property, so cars don't have to pay.
i like the music
The music is available from the RUclips Audio Library.
I wonder if you listen to cassettes in that old car?
I would, if the cassette player wasn't broken. And the old Grundig car stereo is not very service friendly, I can't get it apart to the point at which I could repair the cassette player. Probably just needs new belts.
Whoa, those white divider lines are super misleading to me as an American. It’s not a passing lane, it’s the head-on lane!
Yellow lines are only used in construction aeas. They are provisory. Very often they are made from sticky tape. A line that is unbroken tells you not to cross it (no overtaking!). They support the traffic sign with a red vehicle on the left of the black one, meaning "DON'T").
What camera?
GoPro.
50 fps in 2k that is nice

That's interesting. Yes, sometimes I noticed bad converting to 1080p in RUclips on my and others 4k videos.
You always have such good taste in music!
Thank you :) This music from the RUclips Audio Library is not precisely what I was looking for, but I guess I made the best out of it.
Nur ein kleiner Tipp , würde in Zukunft keine road movies mehr machen wegen Verstoss gegen die neue EU - Richtlinie ab 25. Mai 2018
