My pair of parrots had around 60 fry. About 40 have survived and are around 3 months old now.

Just got some polar blues. Since they are from a blood parrot parent....what are your thoughts of breeding a blood parrot female with the polar blue male? Would love to see if that striped pattern would mix with the orange of the actual parrot. Curious...
Watched a bunch of your videos-you are very knowledgeable on the species. Subscribed!

Thanks for the sub! So Polar Blues are most likely not actually from Blood Parrots at all. They are thought to be some combination of Hondorun Red Points and Convicts. I've seen some examples of breeding Convicts and Blood Parrots which did not turn out as pretty as you would hope. You can definitely try it but my prediction is the offspring wouldn't have the stunning colors you want. Not to discourage you though. I am curious and if you try it would love to hear the results in the future.

How long did it take their eggs to hatch? I've had fertilized eggs between my paired couple inside their little cave and the eggs themselves, oddly enough, wiggle around but still not seeing any hatch yet. Beautiful tank you have here!

Thank you I appreciate that! So I have not been able to tell for sure. My Polar Parrots do a very good job at hiding their eggs since I have a lot of caves. Most fish tend to be 5-7 days so that's my best guess. I'll be curious to hear back how long it took if they did hatch

@@TheAquaticCoder the next day after I posted this! So I believe it was about 5 days haha. I was just about to rescape this tank but instead I have just been trying to hatch brine shrimp. As soon as I saw the swimming fry I moved the other two tank maters to another tank so it's the parents and the babies. Excited to see if I can raise them up enough to sell or give to my friends!

@@AlltheRageBH Glad to hear they hatched successfully! The only difficult part I had was getting them to eat in the first week. Brine shrimp is definitely the way to go imo. If hatching ends up being a pain I found a product called "Instant Brine Shrimp" by Ocean Nutrition that I found them eating within the first few days.

@@TheAquaticCoder niiice! Thanks I'll look into that. I've been giving them hikari first bites because hatching baby brine shrimp has not been going well for me lol
