    I’ve just been on the Frecciarossa 1000 from Rome to Venice and I’ve never realized before the biggest feature of this train: the carriages are pressurized just like on an airplane. Never experienced anything like it before, you could not feel any difference when it entered a tunnel. Plus I was seating in standard class and actually the seat itself was as comfortable as the business class seat on Italo Evo (their brand new train) that I’ve picked the day before (except that it couldn’t recline)

    Thanks for the review. I'm based in the South, so will give Iryo a go in 2023. Competition is a good thing for customers, but the market needs more international routes if we are going to cut air travel in Europe. Plus, in Spain almost all high speed services radiate from Madrid. Filling in the gaps for cross-country routes is taking a long time.

    • @akbk2505
      @akbk2505 2 года назад +3

      Competition in the passenger rail system is idiotic. The best example for this being the UK. Ask any UK train user how satisfied she/he is with that system - and then compare with e.g. Switzerland (zero competition) and Austria - not France (strikes), or Germany (reliability), however.

    • @Hastdupech8509
      @Hastdupech8509 2 года назад +2

      @@akbk2505 But you're mixing high speed and conventional services. Italy has been doing it since 2012, with Trenitalia competing with Italo, and so far we are quite satisfied. Anyway, a comparison should be made with Italy (for example), not with the UK that does it with commuter trains.

    • @MrMaximino92
      @MrMaximino92 2 года назад +3

      Another problem is that many small and medium cities, and vast parts of many regions, are not reached by train services. Because of this, for night trains being non-existent and also because all the HS lines go through Madrid, many Spanish people prefer to use cars and aeroplanes to save time.
      Spain is also stopping Portugal from being connected to the rest of Europe’s HS network.
      Spain only focussed on expanding its high speed network with EU regional development funds to show how better they are in comparison with France, Italy etc. , but they totally forgot to look after their citizens and provide basic services to them.
      This is one of the reasons most of Spain is emptying out, the famous “España vacía”.

    • @juancarlosalonso5664
      @juancarlosalonso5664 2 года назад +2

      MrMaximino92 You seem to have something against Spain for some reason, but the emptying of rural regions is a global phenomenon, not a spanish one, and we’re not stopping Portugal from doing anything, the french have resisted any further integration of the iberian rail network with theirs in fear of the competition it would bring to their local companies, despite the fact that we opened our markets to theirs.

    In the U.S., We have Amtrak Nationally, while there are interstate, and Regional carriers. But, as Fright has priority here it will take those companies to allow higher speed competition in giving an alternative to flying.
