Love the mangrove tank, nice job on the bonsai-style effect. Trying something similar, but letting it grow a little taller. also a science teacher here!

I actually really like the tide effect on the mangrove tank. Why not add a lawnmower blenny to the 29 gallon. Eat the hair algae and increase bioload to bring nitrates up

Thanks for the suggestion. The tank is now several years old and no more hair algae. I will have to do an update.
