I played Max Payne, Need for Speed Most Wanted & Ratchet & Clank on PS2. You know, it says something about modern gaming where I am having more fun playing older games on older hardware.
The addiction that is the PS2… Simply amazing 😎.
IKR? I'm SO glad i missed out so much during the PS4/PS5 era and just kept on playing on my PS1 and PS2 with Smackdown 1 and 2 and even GTA VC, LCS and & SA to keep me company so i can actually have games that are REAL fun and aren't broken crash-happy pieces of junk that so many PS4/PS5 games are nowadays and i'm glad my PS4 sits under my bed and collects dust anyway after the WWE 2K19 servers shut down. (WWE 2K19 crashing in Universe Mode for me was the last straw)
And i don't care if people think i'm stuck in the past or not, I still play PS2 all the time because i'm trying to avoid the dystopian life that is so-called the "modern world" and i'm sick of my PS4 crashing on me every single time i'm in the middle of playing a game.

So many great games on PS2. Gran Turismo 3 will always be my personal pick for the top spot. I was seriously addicted to that game.

@@ProdByKenny909Most people, myself included, will probably agree that GT4 is a "better game", with refined graphics, more content etc, but GT3 is by far the game I had the most fun playing, and it's the one that made my jaw hit the floor in a way no other game has, before or since. Once I had witnessed the greatness of GT3, the improved sequel just felt like more of the same. But that's just my personal opinion. Both are obviously great games.
My ps3 ssd is coming in today so I definitely needed this to know what to fill my library 👍👍

I also recently kept hitting the X button on MGS2 and took forever to get through it
Its based on the configuration that was used by Japan....the actions of the circle button and cross button were reversed (makes sense though as cross means No and Circle means Yes in Japan)....Sony has since reversed it in Japan (PS4 era)

Thanks to your channel man, I recently started collecting black labeled PS2/PS3 game's. But only the game's that I enjoyed, definitely gonna have to get Tony Hawk 3 and 4 now, I totally forgot about those until now.

Great video. I can completely see why these games are the top 10, but I think there are games that I subjectively think are better than some of them, and should be on the list. Some of my personal favourites include Burnout 3 Takedown, Spiderman 2, Secret Weapons Over Normandy and Bully.

Im not really into sports games but oh man , fifa street 1 and 2 on PS2 are gold. Apparently there's also NBA street or something but I haven't played it yet

Not sure if you have a backwards compatibility Wii but Resident Evil 4 on Wii with a Camecube controller is the best set up ease wise IMO.. Great Video man keep em coming!
Some more personal favorites: Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, NBA Street V3, Mercenaries, Soul Reaver 2, Burnout Revenge.
I would add The Getaway and SSX3 on the list
SSX 3 is awesome, it actually wasn't far from being top 10

Love your videos i have 12x ps2s used cleaned all of them puted new thermal pads and some are modchiped with matrix infinity and i got 1x brand new ps2 slim unopened sealed .
Got 3 memory cards .
2x with FCMB .
i play using hdd / usb .
I prefer through disc reads pretty good compare to external hdd .
I might try original hdd adaptor heared its better no lags hick ups and etc ..
I love ps2 its VERY Releable console it dont have to use thermal paste it only need 1mm thermal pad dont take lot of electric from wall no overheating issues no problems .. i got ps3 brand new slim too and 4x used xbox360 slim x2 brand new and x1 used . I just love these consoles i got a ps4 slim and xbox series & ps5 too .
Still i still go back play ps3 & ps2 games are better then today games

Finally someone who appreciates Madden 2003 as much as I do. Definitely my favorite Madden and the soundtrack to the game is awesome.
Great video! 2001,was the start of the real next gen games for the PS2, and the year the console turned from a good DVD player, to a real next gen gaming system. With games like DMC, ICO , MGS 2, GTA 3 GT3 , Silent Hill 2 and Jak & Daxter, that year with is variety and quality was better than this whole generation now.
For MGS2, circle was used as Japan's X button for the PS1 and PS2, so it was just something they missed changing in the US localization.

two games in my current rotation made this list- Tony Hawk pro skater 3 & GT3…(what’s with the 3’s?) but a game that didn’t make the list but a good honorable mention…Silent Hill 2.

Dude I relate so much to the mgs2 main menu story 😂😂 I thought my game was broken so I returned it to GameStop and got a new copy, only then when I was just pressing all the buttons did I realize circle was the select button. I was befuddled to say the least.

Flatout 2 is the best racing game for ps2 if you ask me, so many modes you can play not just campaign it was awesome

Yea. Back in the day Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 was my first game of the series. And it was great. But I played 4 way more and a lot with friends. I think somehow there was better graphical detail in 3 as the maps where smaller. Something about ratio. I should go back and play the third one.
The first time I played through MGS2, at the part where the Colonel tells Snake to turn off the ps2 console, I did. Probably more embarrassing than getting stuck on the main menu.
But yeah MGS2 is easily #1 in my book.

One fix for games that had issues reading on the ps2 is to stand the ps2 up vertically. I have two games that only work when the ps2 is upright.
The disc makes that raddle noise is from center hole not being center

I had some weird disc reading issues on my PlayStation 2. I had to open it up and grease the bars where the laser slides. Some games there were no issues and others would make awful noises like yours is doing and crash or not load right.

For me the ps1-3 were god tier for gaming followed by the sega genesis and xbox-xbox 360
The pal gta cover is a lot better than the US cover, I wish they kept to the movie style covers instead of the generic grid covers.

What you can do with the devil may cry disk is put it in your Jailbroken ps3 and turn it into a ps2 iso
For me personally I would add God of War 2 to that list. Those games were simply mind blowing back in the day.
I miss the sports titles of those days.

Gran theft auto 3 is ranked higher than the other successors for the same reason nostalgic people ranked tony hawks pro skater 2 higher than successors that outdid it. It's because it's responsible for introducing so many new things that became staples in the franchise. Now, I wouldn't rank something higher just for that reason, because I know if we are ranking "best", we are not asking ourselves which one deserves more credit, we are asking which one's best. But people get into their feelings about it.
Metacritic can take a hike... No Shadow of the Colossus, Black, Silent Hill 2, Katamari Damacy, Need for Speed Underground, Midnight Club, Burnout, Kingdom Hearts, God of War, Bully, SSX Tricky, Okami...

That devil may cry disc is probably fine!! Those og PS2 break like that, something with the laser breaks, and then they can't play the blue back discs, just saying get a slim PS2, hopefully you didn't throw the disc away.
