  • In this video, Bill Alexander will show you how to create movement in a painting. This is an important principle to understand if you want your paintings to come alive!
    Our focus is to teach you the Alexander Method™. It is a time-tested method based on the principles of great art. Bill was a student of the Old Masters and his work proves it. You can learn Bill's techniques from Bill himself or with Tom Anderson in Master Class. (Don't let the name fool you. Master Class is a proven, step-by-step course that is designed for everyone!)
    We want to help you become the artist you are meant to be. alexanderart.com/ycp-mastercl...

    I love this painting so much, & I just adore that Bill could never bring himself to cut down a Christmas tree, but chose instead to uproot and pot the tree for the Christmas period and return the tree to ‘Mother Earth’ in the new year, so it can continue to grow, what a beautiful thing, and a wonderful man Bill truly was, not just an exceptional artist...

    Hello there, yes, it is really wonderful to have Bill's company and hear him paint a beautiful winter landscape as only he can. Could feel the warmth of his voice as I sat frozen till the end.

    • @AAlexanderArt

      Thank you for asking. Yes Magic White is a thin oil medium. Probably the consistency of Heavy Cream.

    Beautiful painting, but I don't care for the way that Bill curves the crowns of the trees on the right, as if they're both weighed down with a heavy accumulation of snow. It may be the case, but what of the trees on the left? They should show the same weather burden that the trees on the right of the painting show!

    • @wadepatton2433

      Nature teases us with symmetry, and sometimes it almost appears, but usually one can find certain un-symmetry in nature, because it is natural and imperfect as we are.
      The specific trees you speak of appear smaller and more susceptible to snow/wind load than the unbent tree to their left-is how I see it.

    • @pyrefly7575
      @pyrefly7575 2 года назад

      Some trees have stronger structures or maybe the branches are shorter so the snow on them generates less leverage than necessary to bend the main trunk

    I so miss you sir. May you Rest In Peace. I watched you years ago before Ross. Your mountains are so much more magnificent! You can tell you lived near the Alps.. I know about ppl stealing your technique...how sad...and one man made money just going around the country having ppl pay for personal lessons for unbelievable prices. We know you invented this technique ...well the other guy that stole your technique is up their with you! Give him a smack! lol 😂✌🏻

    • @atarimatt1785
      @atarimatt1785 3 года назад

      check this out: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wet-on-wet Bill is wonderful, but he did not invent this technique.

      @Matias D.C What is ASMR?

    • @Titan52berg
      @Titan52berg 3 года назад +2

      Actually, the techniques are primarily one and the same in a way....
      Bob Ross was William Alexander's student and learned the technique from him.

    • @youmarc11
      @youmarc11 3 года назад +1

      @Kara Thrace That's incorrect. Bill did not invent wet on wet but he did invent the process of first putting a "liquid" white paint on the canvas to paint over. That was his sole invention. Bob "credited" him on his first show true but he made his own liquid white version.

    • @wadepatton2433
      @wadepatton2433 3 года назад +1

      @@youmarc11 ASMR is arousal/excitement from another person whispering very close to the ear or microphone.

    • @wadepatton2433
      @wadepatton2433 3 года назад

      @Kara Thrace You must have never seen Bill rant about being "betrayed" which I'm certain refers to Bob. Bill's nature was of happiness and fullness of life, but Bob funked that up somewhat which was clear when Bill spoke of it-in one of these painting shows.

    Mr Alexander is new to me. So Bob Ross ripped off Bill Alexander and the Kowalskis ripped off Bob Ross. That's what happens when you mix art with commerce! Happy buck, indeed!

    • @AAlexanderArt

      We all need a “happy buck.” It is the unhappy bucks that make it bad for everyone. 😬
