Motion sickness is something you get used to. Then it's not so bothering. It's caused by eye ear information error. Eyes show things moving but ears tell you're still. We need a vr suit in a robot arm or something to remove it 😅
People from the sim racing community also suggest having a fan in front of you which makes sense for driving, obviously, but it also gives your body an orientation outside of the headset with the fan coming from one direction. It also can get hot with a VR headset on, lol!
The HP Reverb G2 has a resolution of 2160 x 2160, so Sony's claim about them having the highest is not correct. They just say "of mainstream headsets" so they can lie without saying they're lying.
The 2 mainstream headsets are meta (occulus) quest 2 and index. And the psvr has them beat. He reverb 2 and HTC vive pro 2 both have higher resolution but not drastically higher. Also the psvr 2 features an oled display with hdr support. Whereas those 2 use lcd without hdr. Hdr has a much higher impact on fidelity than the resolution it's missing. All in all games will look better.
@@deusnext4818 your reply makes no sense. The reviewer claimed the psvr2 is the highest mainstream headset. Which its not. The hp reverb has a higher resolution as stated above and it is most definitely a mainstream headset. All your other points are invalid. The argument is about the resolution not the screen type. If he said highest non pc resolution then he would be correct.
It's to keep cost down presumably. Anyone can put any headphones or earphones they want in, easily and cheaply, and they probably don't have to buy anything extra to do so. Adding headphones to an already expensive HMD (high res OLED with eye tracking) will just make it inaccessible to even more people. Sony are about cheap market adoption, then expensive licenced software, they want as many people to have the hardware as possible.

Reduced motion sickness is an intrinsic feature with improved resolution and refresh rates, if it's enough of a change depends on the person.
Motion sickness is something you get used to. Then it's not so bothering. It's caused by eye ear information error. Eyes show things moving but ears tell you're still. We need a vr suit in a robot arm or something to remove it 😅
You get used to it.
You just need to stop being a big jessie.
People from the sim racing community also suggest having a fan in front of you which makes sense for driving, obviously, but it also gives your body an orientation outside of the headset with the fan coming from one direction. It also can get hot with a VR headset on, lol!
I’m So Excited For This
The HP Reverb G2 has a resolution of 2160 x 2160, so Sony's claim about them having the highest is not correct.
The heptic feedbck on the headset is perfect for head-butting someone in games!
Meh, nothing really blows me away aside from the eye tracking. The lack of integrated headphones is a big oversight for me.
Agreed
That was my takeaway too. Using Sony's own official headphones is cumbersome? How are
It's to keep cost down presumably.
Google says this will only be usable on PS5, and not PS4
why would they limit sales to only the 7 people who own a PS5?
Imagine if Returnal got a VR-Version omg that would be insane!
For me the only Question is, is PSVR2 working with Gran Turismo 7 and ACC on PS5?
this is going to be a great vr, already know it.
I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely gonna be posting some gameplays on my channel
You need a dedicated VR guy and probably take notes from how Eurogamer covered this event.
Great preview and nice arms.
I’m so hyped for Psvr2 already liked the first one even with it’s issues but the second one looks like a huge improvement.
This looks leaps & bounds better then the first one..
Does it have a movie mode? Or something like the vr takes you to a living room with a tv like other vrs?
If the PS5 has a multimedia mode there is no reason they don't include it in PSVR2. Otherwise they are dumb as hell you could even play 2d PS5 games without needing a TV
Odd that he said the haptic feedback wasn't great when he was using the bow. They said other weapons later should use it more but a bow is a perfect showcase of what the trigger should be capable of.
On a controller yes, but in VR you’re manually pulling back the string with the motion controls, so no use of the triggers.
@@iNoScopedMLK but when you use a bow irl you use your fingers to pull the strings.. and there is resistance and tension that could be translated to the triggers really well. Pressing on the triggers would make sense for the controls imo
@@gnarcky6ix6 That would be counter intuitive and immersion breaking probably as you don't feel resistance like that in the index finger in real life while using a bow and arrow?
@@SC0RPI0NFURY the trigger that would be using the trigger tension (R2) would be your middle finger...
@@iNoScopedMLK Not true, in any VR archery game you use the trigger. Have you ever played a VR archery game? Literally every single one uses the trigger when nocking the arrow.
Do they implement 3d eye popping effects? My fave thing about psvr1
This is really great for the VR industry
Hopefully this will push Meta to start producing more AAA VR games. Sony currently has that on lock.
Meta is a multi multi billion dollar company, they can buy or create some studios to make some large exclusive games.
@@jameshill5458 it would really skyrocket the reason to buy a meta quest 2 so Im on board
@@jameshill5458 they can call it Oculus Studio... oh wait... they did.
Pre ordered mine!! Can’t wait to play it
Nice Article IGN. Sony keeps making the right moves.
And PSVR2 is a key advantage from their competitors consoles as Xbox or Switch.
Beyond that ... wow!! the games look incredible !
Anyone know if you can use MW2? Also if you can use it just as a screen for other games? Even if it’s not compatible I’m hoping you can use it as a screen to avoid using a tv or monitor and have the game up close
Considering that Valve has their own headset in the Index and will soon have a follow-up to it, no one should be surprised when they keep Half Life: Alyx as a PCVR exclusive.
They probably won't
But their games would sell more if they released the game to psvr2
Also the statement at 01:00 about the PSVR2 being the highest resolution mainstream headset is wrong. HP Reverb G1 (released over 3 years ago) and G2 have higher resolution and absolutely are mainstream VR headsets.
Not quite. Both may have higher resolution displays (not by much though), the PSVR2 will still look better due to having a higher pixel density, and it’s an RGB OLED (the only one on the market), it’s pretty much guaranteed to look better than every other mainline headset

Gonna wait for some games and then I'm gonna buy. Until then I'm gonna have fun with my oculus quest🤪
aht aht thats “meta” quest to you sir
@@professionaldunce1981 meta quest sounds weird to me
@@professionaldunce1981 nah. Quest 2 sounds better lmao
Ye same if games like boneworks and hard bulllet and stuff don’t come to psvr 2 them il stick with plutosphere on my quest 2
Nice to see the finger tracking hopefully it feels refined enough to maintain an immersive experience contrary to what he kind of mentioned here
Since the new quest pro will be more into the bussiness side of vr this might be the next gen of vr gaming
Really great preview. Thank you
I'm really looking forward to it can't wait to buy it
Love the first PSVR. Definitely putting cash to the side every week for this until it comes out.
Love the first one , but you habe to be bothered to play it lol
I'll prob wait till the end of the PS5 life cycle before getting it . That way will have a backlog of games and hopefully they will be available and in stock. For now the PS5 is just fine
You gonna miss all fun though if you want to wait
An honest review in the modern age? Consider me surprised.
Honest=negative/tepid
Overhyped=positive/excited
Guys do your research. Psvr1 launched with everything at 500$. Stop with the price fear.
If it works with pc also, ill buy it in a heartbeat.
same
obv it wont, its for playstation
@@clapsmccheeky if it won't, we won't buy it. VR headsets NEED to support PC, matter what.
@@clapsmccheeky hopefully if it's they change their minds, since VR is still niche
What a shame right? It's a reasonable contender against the other VR headsets. My GPU could really take advantage of it's 120hz output.
Spiderman 2 with this actually web swinging would be crazy. Sounds hard to make but fun to play
cant wait for skyrim VR 2 edition
the game is so bad with those move controllers. Hope the devs bight on porting over the games and fully utilizing the PSVR 2. I red somewhere they are making it really easy to PORT regular PS5 games over to PSVR. Cyberpunk 2077 in PSVR 2 would be insane
What are those headphones he's using?. They look like they were designed for use with this. Do they come with it or are they an extra purchase?. Thanks. (Forget it he answered this question at the end of the video, cool).
They're the standard ps5 offering.

Day one purchase for me , the cost doesn't matter. Can't wait to watch my collection of 4k movies and 3d movies.
Quest 2 would've been the better option for 4k movies, and 3D films, because it was only $299, but it went up to $399 years later. It's also more than gaming, it has an actual movie theater where you can watch films privately, or with friends/family. The experience is one of a kind.
@@MisterUrbanWorld Here are some reasons why someone would prefer to watch movies on PSVR 2:
Quest 2 resolution: 1832 x 1920 per eye. PSVR2 resolution: 2,000 x 2040 per eye.
Display: Quest 2: LCD. PSVR2: OLED
Field of view: Quest 2: 90 degrees. PSVR2: 110.
@@MisterUrbanWorld "quest is a better option" you made me laugh it loud
How does honest feedback differ from dishonest feedback and how do you know it's honest feedback if the VR hasn't come out yet?
Wow nice to see a honest non hype review from an IGN reviewer. Well done. Outlines clear positives but also the negatives as well.
This was a horrible review. It felt like they were sponsored by Valve.
@@RoyHoy you are obviously a very smart individual to think that this is a valve sponsorship and that they let him try out new playstation vr tech (by which valve shouldnt legally have access to) just to badmouth the vr headset
@@michaelnevsky7622 Or....They told Valve they were trying PSVR2 and Valve told them to talk crap about it and compare it to their VR headset (Index).
@@RoyHoy Dude it was an honest review. He is comparing it to something that is just better. If you cant take honest reviews because you are a ps fanboy, thats your problem

Any idea on release date?
I've been waiting for the vr devices to buy a ps5. Still enjoy my vr on my ps4.
You can use the original PSVR on PS5 tho
