Here in 2024 And still an old Rock-n-Roller, but back in the 70s I would watch Hee Haw before goin out clubbin on Saturday nights. I still love the old rock and old and old country. Glad I lived through these great times.
It's hard to believe this was 52 years ago.I was A Rock and Roller all the way in 1972,and granted it was more than Great back then however I Loved me some Hee Haw.Hee Haw Country Music was Great, and The Ladies Of Hee Haw gave Rondstadt,Carly Simon and Grace Slick when it came to Looks.
If I'm not wrong, this performance by Hank Jr was before his severe accident. He sounds very much like his Dad. His voice is strong and clear After the accident iy seemed to md that he sang more angry songs and had more of a gravel sound in his voice. Just my opinion, don't be hateful.
Actually still has two working eyes, wears sunglasses because his eyes are not level with each other and kinda deformed after his accident and surgeries.
I watched an interview with Hank where he actually took off his glasses and explained, showed his injuries. He has two working eyes but when he fell 500 feet off the mountain his skull was split open when he landed his head on the rocks. Many surgeries later they had him patched up but one of his eyes sits lower on his face than the other. The glasses makes this much less noticeable. The beard hides more scars. In some of his early performances after his accident he is actually wearing a wig under his hat as his hair hadn’t grown back yet from his many surgeries, it was a devastating fall off that mountain.
This was before he went on his own way and started his own signature style . Instead of doing hos father's style he didn't want to do ...Which turned out to be much better IMHO. I like seniors music and jr.s both . But they were great doing their own stuff...
@patriciajrs46 who cares what you believe..it's true all the stars sung with tracks back then look closer he is moving his lips..And it sounds just like the album version. If it were live it would be different.

One thing about Hee Haw, it was a corny show, but Buck and Roy used the show to introduce the nation to the best talent in country music.

String Bean!
Hank Jr. almost died,Stringbean was killed.
That feller playing the steele guitar.
That Cathy Baker was just plain Cute and Wholesome.
Lovin man? Lol
Not one of Hank's strongest songs. Wouldn't be too long before he moved on to better material.
@mattcravens2473 yeah I am a fan of the Hank williams jr and friends album and onward from there..before then not so much
A track ..not actually singing..which was the norm on Hee Haw back then
I don't believe that.
