I obtained an AL8 merit for PSLE, and wondering if it’s advisable to put SCGS IP (4-8) as first choice.

If this is the school you want to get in most, then it would be fine. Just remember to add a few "insurance" schools in the last few choices

I got AL 14 so it realistic to put a school at COP AL10 as my first choice

AL10 might be a bit far away but if you want to give it a shot then make sure to but in second choice nothing less than AL13
