    Great stuff. Always reassuring to watch these when DIY'ing. One question, does the vent cap stay screwed on on these or do you remove it. What's the difference if you do or don't. Sorry that's two questions but with it off, it seems to drain faster and I was wondering if that's the way it's designed.

    Hi. MIne sounds like it is glugging from several feet further down the drain system - I suspect where the basin drain pipe joins the 4" pipe but that is under a floor so not easy to see or get at. Will an anti-siphon trap on the basin help with that too or only when the trap itself is doing the glugging ? Hi, I’ve just fitted one of these anti syphon (P trap) to my kitchen sink due to noises and smell. Pipework very much like the video but P trap not bottle. The noises stopped but I found if I emptied a bowl of water down the sink, the actual anti syphon valve leaked water?? Could this be faulty or could it be the pressure of the water being too much for the tight bend out?

I have a 1.5 sink and the smell is coming from whatever one does not have the water running through it. Both basins are connected to the same trap. Hi mate wondering if I can pick your brains as you seem more of an expert than me .
    Fitted a washing machine water drain hose under my sink ( for the machine to release its water through the same pipe as the kitchen drain )
    However lately it’s started to making a random trumpet type sound? When the water is off. And nobody is in the kitchen. Does it every 30 mins or so. Water runs and drains fine both hot and cold.
    It’s like a abrupt pressure sound which creates a trumpet sound. Very strange. Only does it when nobody is using the taps. The washing machine is also unplugged and not on.
    I should point out the only other time its makes the sound is when the washing machine releases its dirty water, it makes that same sound through the sink. Like a pressure trumpet type sound, it’s very abrupt and doesn’t last. Just a quick ‘ BOP’
    What do you think it is?
    Many thanks

    • @omarismith3655
      @omarismith3655 Год назад

      Tried what you suggested mate, installed a AAV, / Durgo valve - but still making the abrupt trumpet sound.
      When I had the trap completely off with nothing connected, it made the sound twice, so safe to say it’s not that.
      Any other ideas? Possibly linked with the washing machine cold water intake ? As when the machine takes in water or begins its cycle, the same trumpet noise occurs.
