liquid minoxidil and foam minoxidil? 🤔How to choose? Here are some factors to consider:
Liquid Minoxidil: 💦
👉 Ease of Application: Liquid minoxidil is typically applied using a dropper or spray. Most find it’s easy due to rev precision.
👉 Penetration: Liquid minoxidil may penetrate the scalp slightly better than foam because it can reach the skin more effectively. This might be advantageous for individuals with THICKER HAIR and not over balding.
👉 Drying Time: Liquid minoxidil can take longer to dry compared to foam, which means you may need to wait before styling / washing your hair.
Foam Minoxidil 🌨
👉 Ease of Application: can take longer to apply compared to liquid as you need to wait for the foam to settle and then spread the remaining product. Precision is another issue ( not in cases of very thin hair with apparent bald patches.
👉 Drying Time: Foam minoxidil dries quickly, allowing you to style your hair / wash sooner after application.
👉 Less Scalp Irritation: foam minoxidil is less likely to cause scalp irritation or dryness compared to the liquid form due to the absence of ingredients like PROPYLENE GLYCOL
👉 Convenience: Foam minoxidil is often considered more convenient for people who don’t want greasy scalp / hair and for those who don’t want to do headbath frequently.
👉 Cost: foam is “slightly” more expensive than liquid form.
👩🏻⚖Ultimately, the choice between liquid and foam minoxidil depends on YOU 🫵 & your personal preferences, hair type & density & how well your scalp tolerates the product.
CONSISTENCY & PATIENCE: 2 words that are synonymous with minoxidil.
Regardless of the form you choose, it’s important to use minoxidil consistently to see the results. So, try both and choose something that you are likely to be consistent with as both the forms deliver almost the same results in same percentages.

🙆🏻♀A very common and a valid concern, I hear from any of my Patients. And a common cause for non-compliance as well🙇🏻♀. So what to do❓
👉 Switch to FOAM formulations: These are non-greasy preparations and sink into the skin easily without leaving any residue as compared to the liquid formulations. Foam preparations do not cause itching or reactions on scalp as well, in comparison to liquid preparations.💁🏻♀
🤷🏻♀However, my personal choice and also as per the research liquid formulations are more effective in comparison to foam but when it comes to being compliant and using consistently, it is always better to use something that suits you and that you think you can use consistently in the long run.
👉 If you have long / thick hair & not significant balding, using foam can be challenging/ ineffective. But you don’t like the greasiness of liquid formulations .. what to do? 🤔
So can stick to liquid formulations, use alternate days or apply & leave on for 60-90 mins and shower. That way you are giving enough time for the product to absorb and won’t go around with greasy hair / itchy scalp. 💁🏻♀
You can apply overnight and take head bath everyday as well ( if that works for you ) with a very mild shampoo ( No, this doesn’t increase hair fall) 💁🏻♀
Trying out different formulations / methods is the solution for this “greasy” problem but NOT STOPPING it , as really there is NO BETTER ALTERNATE to minoxidil when it comes to hair thinning.👍🏻

This is what I do for mine hair growth: I start my day with mild exercises. For breakfast, I eat omelette, almonds, and idli. When I return back from work, I gently massage my hair. At night, I apply a few drops of liitllexttra reactivaate serum to my hair. Just following these things has given me good hair growth.
