My favorite GA aircraft to fly. I was frustrated which how finicky the iPad is on Xbox, but I've found a reliable way to manage it and this plane is amazing.
Love AvAngel and yes, you're included in my list of the good sim reviewers. I mean who else has crazy 4K eye candy madness (even though I don't even see 4K)? Hehehe...
I've had my eye on the Stearman 75, I've been concerned that the cheaper price may be reflected in how interactive the plane is... I'd love to know your thoughts, and why you prefer it.
Fantastic vid! I was recently at the WACO museum in Ohio. They let me know that while most people pronounce it incorrectly like the city in Texas, it really rhymes with taco.
Another beautiful bit of eye candy. This is one of my favourite planes to fly, beautiful in VR. I found if you lock the tail wheel take off is much easier. Another favourite at the moment is the free R44 helicopter. They are doing an amazing job with it. Would be interested in what you think.
Damnit Gipper! I'm going to have to buy an XBox 1X do-hickey now! Also, a plane like this needs a BIIIIIG sub-woofer none of your 8" rubbish either! We're talking 12" at least and 500W to spare. YEAH!
Good to see this plane getting some love. It seems the rating system on the msfs store is pretty broken. Seeing planes like the CRJ getting 3 stars or less lately was definitely an indicator something was amiss. Great video, love this plane myself, and might not have given it much love lately - definitely inspiration to fly it again soon!
Well... If this WACO is even 10th of the original released for Flight Sim X, then go ahead and invest in it. I on the other hand have one, along with about $3,500.00+ worth of add-ons for FS-10 and will not be purchasing any for this one. Would like to see them fix it so their dedicated fan base can use the aftermarket aircraft they've already purchased and have on storage devices.
@@GripperSim Not to argue your point... But it is an updated version of a sim that has been out since 1982, the year my youngest was born. As for the WACO... They're using the same aircraft created for FS 10, tweeked the program so it can be used in this version of FSX. It's like they're selling you a car you already purchased. And it should be a problem for the entire FSX fan base. Enjoy your video's thanks for your input.
@@Helo1able a lot of the engine has been changed from FSX, even with the legacy converter a lot of stuff gets broken, especially cockpit instruments and needs a lot of work to bring it even to FSX standard, let alone FS2020 standard, I don’t think you realise how this works, what’s been changed and how non simple what you’re asking is. So, it’s never going to happen, things move on, you can continue to use what you bought that was made for THAT sim for as long as they work in the operating system you have, and accept that no addons are going to be moved over without them being redone and then charged for that work. The best you can hope for is a discount on the remade 2020 version of a plane or scenery you already own, but that’s on the developers of that addon to decide.
@@WhiteHawk77 Absolutely understand and agree. I'm literally just wallet burned. I spent a ton of money on FSX and cannot use any of it... And now watching all of the same aircraft come out for this new version of the sim, is just irritating and frustrating as hell. With everything in life, it's time to move on. I'll be doing it from the viewers perspective though. Good luck!
MSFS is completely broken with regards to tail draggers and much of the flight dynamics at present. Yes, it is pretty but in real life a tail dragger simply doesn't do that weird jerky crap that it does in MSFS 2020. I wonder when they will fix it. When you landed it makes no sense why when the tail wheel landed it went crazy, there are acknowledged issues with the friction and the way it works.
they will if you don't lock the tail wheel.. also need to maintain full back pressure then you won't see what is above. Sort the PEBTAS issues first before blaming the sim.
There's a fair chance you've actually outdone yourself this time Gripper Sim Sir. This was astonishingly beautiful. And a wonderful aircraft for sure. Enjoy your weekend 😃 Love from Norway ♥
This is a well produced video but I don’t feel it is totally honest with Xbox simmers. The static elements on the iPad don’t work and the power button to hide the iPad is off center - frustrating until you figure it out. It would be helpful if you mentioned this. The takeoff and landing rolls are also not right in the flight model. I fly many taildraggers- they all require special care but the physics are just wrong with this aircraft - you can forget staying out of a ground loop with any sort of crosswind. I enjoy it in the air but every time I go to load it up I have second thoughts about whether I want to deal with takeoff and landing because they are not enjoyable experiences and don’t appear to be accurate based on actual pilot commentary. Since you are trying to appeal to Xbox customers is this Xbox footage?
Truth. I blew up on Twitter when I thought the stupid iPad was stuck in the middle of my 6-pack. Even knowing the power is off center it's a nightmare to turn off. Why they didn't make the flight stick toggle the thing, I'll never know 🤦♂️ Plane is a lot of fun to fly though! Did my first VOR flight in this girl.

It is isn't it. : )
Thanks Gripper! I've had this plane for several months but have not flown it for awhile. Now I'm motivated again!
Yes DeadPicts, try it in a cross wind! ;;;)))
Very pretty plane (and video), thanks Gripp!
Thanks Jon!
Very nice , think i'll have to purchase.
Its great in VR!
A persuasive reason to invest in a good stick and pedals!
Indeed it is, I hope to showcase some hardware before Xmas!
@@GripperSim Pedals are already on the list my wife keeps. This is a good thing.
Only just saw this review now Grip (a bit/LOT late - sorry!). Good photos of you. Excellent review. Your camera work is always top notch.

Hay Jenny! Thanks! 4K will be common on TV's soon!
It's a very nice plane but I prefer the DC Designs Stearman.
We definitely need more classic biplanes for MSFS.
Indeed and I'm sure there's more in development Fred. Thanks for commenting! : )

Ha haa Thanks man! Its true, Waco as in lunatic! ;;;)))
Great post... thanks
Thanks Pete,
If the stick isn't fully back on touchdown, you're not landing right!
Well, after I slow down enough while rolling out, and on the take off roll initially. I've not flown a tail wheel for some time in the RW.
Hey Gripper, MtnFly here, great video as always!
Thanks MtnFly! See ya on stream soon! : )
I love your video, could you make plz a tuto for setting camera and views as you showed in this video?
I will one day Arexki! Thanks for the tip! I'll make a studio tour video some day soon..

I'll look into the R44 mate, thanks!
Frooglesim recently hung it up. Not doing youtube anymore.

Well she's sat in me FSX hangar for several years and will soon be sitting in me MSFS hangar too haha.
Love your videos, this one exceptional. Could you share with me how you record them and have the Flight available for review. Thanks
I'll have to make a studio video at some point Kim, I'll put it on the list!
