Just bought one today thanks for the video, much better than the instructions. Just be aware folks!! had to adjust the sensor because it wouldn't stay a light.
Great video. Picked up one today at Aldi on special for $150, to replace a Jumbuck entry-level bullet charcoal smoker. Wasn't sure it was the right move, but your video is reassuring:) Thank you!
Thanks, there is a bit of trickery in that you move a few bits of clutter to the side if required to film projects. There are a few improvements coming over the next few months however!!
Im on my second cook ,it takes ages to heat up ,definitely wouldnt do large brisket cooks ,only small chicken pieces, ive also got a Inkbird wireless thermometer as the door gauge seems to be out 10°
I just purchased this unit, seems great however i noticed the smoker becomes very very faint after an hour or so, do i need to top up my wood chips often?
Yes you do need to top up if its burning off too quick. I try to keep the heat down. The trick is to also soak chips in some water prior to smoking. This makes them last longer. A few hours minimum or overnight is good. You can also soak in a mix of other flavours. I like to mix in some bourbon and maple syrup. You can also add some spices. You only really need smoke for the first few hours. If doing a low and slow cook then its more the moderate heat for the remainder of the cook to let fat render down and meat become nice and tender.
Picked up on special for 149 2 weeks ago. Seems great but it comes only with 3 trays while I think it has places for 2 more. Anyone knows where to buy 2 additional trays?
For the convenience we use swap and go. Value wise its probably better to get a 9kg filled yourself as swap and go are 8.5kg. That said you don't have to worry about the cylinder being in date etc.
Very imformative, thank you. Hope Aldi releases this soon. Did it actually come with a light, or did you stick one in there (is that safe)? Also, any idea what the power of the burner would be like? Actually hoping to see if this can act as a outdoor gas oven so would be good if this thing can reach and maintain temps of 250c.

For the money they are great. We use ours regularly. Interesting regarding adjustments, I haven't had to do that. Enjoy 👍

I love it, quick and easy to setup and still works fantastic.
That's got to be one of the tidiest garages/workshops I've seen!

Please do a review on the wireless thermometer
Yes I have been meaning to do this. Will try to get something setup shortly.
Have tested out a brisket? Or ribs?
Thanks. Will try this.
I’m struggling to get the smoker below 100 c. Any tips?

Can you do beef ribs or brisket update video pls
How hot can the smoker get ?
Would it be able to reach 200 degree to cook a pizza ?
A bit late, just in case you can answer but I am new to this. How long was the cook you show in the video ? 2 o 3 hours longer ?
Great review, thank you.

Be great to do a review of the Rainbird. 🤓
Actually yes. I should add that to my list! Thanks for that!
Can it be converted to use mains gas?
Yes it has the same nozzle as a regular gas barbecue. I haven’t done it, but it should be possible with an adaptor.
In Australia you would need to get a gas fitter to modify and no one would do that. I certainly wouldn't.

Is swap and go gas bottles best way to have LPG bottles filled in terms of price and convenience?

Good stuff
Thanks 😁
Any water dripping on the meat

It's on sale next week
Sorry for the late reply. These come and go. Light was just to film 😉👍
Ours wont stay lit ! We cant get past seasoning stage!
We have never had that issue. My step dad has had 2 that has also worked perfectly. It could be the gas regulator?
Just bought a new one and they are different inside. Do not believe they are a rebadged hark any more. Not that happy with it.

Why is this not good for briskets? Can it do longer cooks or is it just not good enough at holding temperature?
