I know it's been some time ........but life can get in the way of wild camping .....but Damien and my self see each other all the time ...we are family.....so hopefully you will see me more if you want.....seeing Jimmy was awesome. Much love ya xxxxxx Whoooooooooop

We have plans for making a semi permanent camp in the forest but Im a bit bored with going to the same place and looking for different ideas to bring to the channel

Once watched a program about ,this tribe hunting.
So I was waiting for the spears and bow n arrows to come out ,
But they were hunting midges , with tiny little spears lol.
Ok with nets , and when they'd caught enough, they squashed them together and made ,like burgers out of them .
I don't fancy it myself lol.

Insects and bugs are a big source of protein but its not for me unless it was a survival situation until I got back to civilization and a full English breakfast

Looked like we had womens stockings on our heads
Lemon oil and / or Lavender or Mint oils will keep midges , Ticks and Mossies at bay mate , And burning Coffe Grounds does the same thing !.

You cant beat army surplus gear, its inexpensive and virtually bomb proof. Its a bit heavy for the minimal hiking and camping I do but great for bushcraft or places where you dont wander too far

Thanks for your comment. I found the remains of the Auxilliary unit, Ogle patrol bunker near Gubeon, Morpeth. Looked like it had been destroyed or collapsed, just bits of corrigated sheet metal remains. I haven't done any research since then

Hello Damien....Do you get bothered with ticks much up at Harwood. The last couple of years ive been getting hammered with them in various places in Northumberland when hiking or camping. Ive never known it to be as bad
Hi Graham sorry for the late reply, I've never been bothered by ticks at Harwood forest. They seem to prefer grassy places, thats where I've been affected by them in the past.

I haven't bought a licence in the last 2 seasons. TBH, I've lost interest in fishing. The fish they were stocking were tiny. I still see Paul but he's gone off fishing also and is into metal detecting now
Mason Bees - They live underground. Had them in the back garden.

Best time for places like that is in the colder months and the darker nights makes it a more spooky experience.

Areet Damien, av just been watching a RUclips video of a family out in Harwood forest they put it up 4 days ago and they came across where you and the Cheviot Yeti wildcamped there was one of them Alien faces hanging from the tree with the Cheviot yeti was here written on it hahahahaha 😂 😂

Have you tried a Thermacell to chase away midges!?
Steve Wallis of "Camping with Steve"(RUclips) uses a Thermacell and has shown over & over, its usefulness to clear his camps of mosquitos, and it is bound to be excellent for midges!
I've never tried one but have tried various repellents over the years with varying success but not of them are totally successful in deterring the midgies. There can be thousands of them at any one time so nothing can be 100% effective. I just avoid places plagued by the midgies until the season for them has ended

We've been out together but didn't film much so had no usable footage to upload. Sometimes I chill out and don't record anything, it feels strange as I'm so used to capturing the moment but do enjoy the time out with friends and no pressure of making videos

Over the years I've experienced a few strange things but nothing conclusive. I tend to research on my own, that way if anything happens like unusual sounds recorded, then I know it can't be made by me or someone I'm camping with. Over the years I've camped with people who don't take the research seriously so thats another reason I do it alone. Thats not to say all people are like that and I will give researchers such as BBR the information on places to go if they want to visit themselves.
