    Brought tears to my eyes. Can't remember when I last saw each member of a big band truly respecting and appreciating the skills of a fellow member. It looked like each could not believe what the other was doing, even though she/he was equally as skilled in her/his own right. Now, that's teamwork at its zenith!

    What a treat for these tired old ears and eye to see a group of talented kids who are really into what they are doing and carrying us along with them. This whole group I could listen to all night long. Thanks kids from Canada. I am 80 but can still enjoy talent when I hear it.

    Love the saxophone section in unison at about 2:32. Holy Cow! In tune, in rhythm. They sound like a woodwind piano. Solos are impressive, too. But the ensemble is exceptional.

    The rhythm section is swinging hard and right the heck in the pocket. They lay back a tiny bit when the trombone solos start I think? Or rather, they feel what the soloists do and reflect the same energy.

      close your teeth, put the tip of your tongue touching your teeth, then open your lips. Then relax your tongue and blow air. Let your tongue repeatedly hit the top and bottom rows of your teeth.

    • @zacha7856
      @zacha7856 3 года назад

      flutter tonguing, you do the same thing with your tongue as rolling your r's and it gives a growl affect

    • @meanathradon
      @meanathradon 3 года назад

      @@zacha7856 its sounds different than normal flutter tonguing... almost like a growl+double tongue... its possible that its a different positioning of the tongue that produces different version of the flutter..

    I feel like the pianist broke the solo's vibe. She proposed a completely different approach to them and, If it was the first or the last, won't be a problem.
    It was a off tempo style that was cool but not for that time.
