I honestly like this version of Mihawk’s famous quote line than the one from the anime, “I’m no beast that goes all out when hunting a rabbit.”
Kudos to Mihawk’s live action voice actor for doing an excellent job portraying Mihawk’s character.

As a Japanese person. I've loved Mihawk since I was little, but I never thought I'd be able to see it in live action in such a great way. Confident, bored, cool, yet elegant and classy. I think this actor surpasses both manga and anime.
As an American person, I'm embarrassed that netflix has the audacity to alter a near perfect story into a diversity, equity, and inclusion cash grab that does nothing but make a mockery out of the decades of hard work Oda put into this masterpiece..

Then i realized something, oda said that they were gonna make 6 SEASONS OF THE LIVE ACTION!!! which is up to marine Ford!!!! And if that succeeds then they'll make 6 MORE!!! GOING UP TO WANO!!!! MEANING THIS SHOW WILL LITERALLY BE GOING THE SAME AS THE ANIME!!! MAKING THIS THE VERY FIRST ANIME LIVE ACTION TO ACTUALLY BE AS HYPED AS THE ANIME!!! So beat that!!!
Like think about it, 1000 episode's of the anime... Going to live action... That sounds insane!!! Like bro... We'll literally get gear 5 in all media! In manga, anime, and we'll probably get it in live action... Like then the reveal of the actual one piece treasure itself like one piece is BIG and has the best world building and character development, and is known to be "king of shonen" and if they managed to make the live action as good as the anime, they'll probably be called "the king of live action" and the "first live action to break the curse"

This was such an awesome scene. The fact that he recognized something in zoro and luffy and let them go/live just to see what they do was badass. Hoping for more of the mihawk character in the future.

Zoro's duel was the first meeting between the student and the future master. It is the beginning of a beautiful and powerful story. Too much to describe in just one word.

Mihawk’s tiny blade:
100% ACCURATE!!
I say this as somebody who is not a diehard Mihawk or Buggy fan (in fact, unlike most One Piece lovers, Buggy in the manga and anime annoys me). But the portrayal of both of these characters in the live action is truly amazing. I couldn't think of better casting for those two.

Steven John Ward? Imagine him against The Cult of The Second Death.
Nambi is not holding Luffy's hand in this scene, because Luffy let this happen. She pretty mad at him and well Usopp didn't say much and was much better emotional support since she was not mad at him. The fight was definitely amazing and broke my heart too. 10/10 Magnificent. All the actors should be so proud! 👏

I never thought they could pull off Mihawk's aura from the anime/manga. Oh mylanta they pulled it off and then some.
Pretty much everything was preserved. Was hoping they would keep the line Mihawk has about his butter knife sadly being the largest blade he owned.

One main difference between this fight and the anime that I really wish they had included was when Mihawk noticed that Luffy and the others weren’t trying to interfere once it was shown how Zoro had no match and that Mihawk respected Luffy for that. Would loved to have seen that here.
I think this live action scene is better for the impliction that Luffy naively put Zoro in danger, despite Zoro wanting that 1v1 battle

also the deals been presented are very fair but cause over writers room and them not getting that part they keep refusing which is just stupid on there part.

What I loved a about this adaptation of Mihawk is he CHOSE not to bring Luffy in, he just straight up told Garp "Nah, I wanna see where this goes." Because despite how powerful the world government is, they can't make Mihawk do a damn thing. He probably has been sp damn bored for decades since Gold Roger died, he knew a good story being writen when he saw one.

Mihawk is Lvl 100 player with cool armor and weapon. While the main cast are lvl 5 player with only basic items and a stick to start the game.

The cast isn't perfect, some are more accurate than the other, some are utter trash. As for Mihawk, it is the best we could possibly get for the character. The demeanor, the portrayal, the way he talk. 10/10 on point.

It is good, don t get me wrong but in anime Mihawk sympathizes with Zoro . But in this scene Mihawk is so cold. At least at the end when he gave the scar he should have smiled a little bit.

Mihawk in the live-action is very classy compared to the anime so I don't think he would break character for someone like Zoro. Using Yoru and leaving Zoro alive is more than enough to convey respect.

The actor for Zoro is to studious when acting. He needs to put in more zest like a Yakuza member. Right now it's like the actor seems annoyed with everything and everyone at every moment. Zoro's like that but he's happier and more expressive about it. :p
Luffy let this happen so Nami didn't hold his hand, just Usopp's
- I believe both Zoro and Mihawk very interesting portraits, but far from manifesting the original characters fully.
- First of the dialogue in the LA seems superficial. Compared to the anime, where they give me the feeling that they really create a bond in a kind of master and student way, which fate will strengthen in the future as the anime shows eventually. This scene did not convey any of that.
- As for Mihawk's character here... I think he overdid it with a cynical touch compared to the anime, appearing somewhat vain. And the Tom Ellis Luficer voice doesn't resonate a Mihawk vibe with me.
In the anime Mihawk is somewhat more vertical, and has a more warrior or military aura.
Also, he uses too much a subtle smile of superiority here, while in the anime he is more serious, thus conveying a deeper presence.
Last, in the anime, Mihawk smiled with respect and recognition toward Zoro just once, and it was before giving the final cut.
Here we didn't get that at all. Instead we just got the word "Magnificent" with a Tome Ellis (Lucifer) intonation, which again, doesn't strike me as Mihawk. These are just to name a few, that's why, compared to the anime I would give a 6/10 to this scene to be honest.
- As for Zoro's character. I'm not sure why, but he doesn't give me the potent presence and chills that the Zoro from the anime does. Especially after he makes the promise to Luffy after being cut... That scene didn't strike me as much as the anime did.

His first time recognizing luffy as pirate king and also swearing an oath for him. In this live action he just tell something about himself not losing. Zoro is loyal and even lay low his pride and asked mihawk to teach him later on for luffy. This one is selfish. And people say its spot on?? Pfftt
