Well, as you are probably aware alot of homes in jamaica have grills installed. Primarily on the ground floor. It can be unsafe if for example all the doors also have grills which use pad locks. So it all depends on how the grills have been designed. Some enable you to open them from within the property without a key.
We also know alot of returnees who do not have grills are their homes. it a personal preference and also may depend on the level of crime in the area you reside.
