Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a LucasArts action-adventure video game and part of the The Force Unleashed project. It was initially developed for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 consoles and on the iOS, second-generation N-Gage, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, and Java-equipped mobile phone handhelds.[1]
The game was released in North America on September 16, 2008, in Australia and Southeast Asia on September 17, and in Europe on September 19. LucasArts released downloadable content for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.[2] An Ultimate Sith Edition of the game, containing new and all previously released expanded content, was released in November 2009,[3] which also came out on Mac OS and Microsoft Windows.
The project bridges the first two Star Wars trilogies, acting as an origin story for both the united Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Civil War depicted in the Original Trilogy. The game introduces a new protagonist, "Starkiller", as Darth Vader's secret apprentice, who is tasked with hunting down Jedi while killing rebels and Imperials alike in order to hide his existence from the Emperor, but soon starts to slowly redeem himself to the light side of the Force.
Reviews offered fairly positive response, praising The Force Unleashed for its compelling story, robust physics, impressive art and soundtrack, while some more negative reviews cited frustrating gameplay. Despite this, the game was a bestseller in the United States and Australia, with over one million copies sold its debut month. As of February 2010, the game has sold over seven million copies, and it is the fastest-selling Star Wars video game.[4] A sequel, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, was released in October 2010.[5]
he Force Unleashed is a third-person action game in which the player's character's weapons are the Force and a lightsaber.[6] Developers treated the main character's lightsaber like another Force power, and wanted to ensure "something visceral and cool" happened with each button-push.[6] The game has a combo system for stringing lightsaber attacks and for combining lightsaber attacks with Force powers.[6] Experience points earned by killing enemies and finding artifacts can be used to increase Starkiller's powers and traits.[7] The gameplay is intended to be easy to learn; the development team included "horrible" gamers to help ensure the game's accessibility.[8] Players can casually run and gun through the game, but the game rewards those who take a stealthy, more tactical approach.[8] The game includes enemies that are easy to overcome; game difficulty arises from presenting these enemies in large numbers that can wear down the player's character.[9] Additionally, enemies learn from the player's character's attacks; using the same attack on different characters can sometimes lead to the player's character doing less damage.[10] The enemies, which number over 50, have various strengths and weaknesses; developers faced the difficulty of effectively placing them throughout the game's varied environments.

Solid game but to me the fact that Starkiller pretty much single handedly formed the alliance has never jelled with me and feels like the biggest slap in the face of the OT.
Matthew Fauria Think Of it like this: Darth Vader; cunning and manipulative master of the sith, found a powerful kid and trained him as a sith assassin. Then, he got that kid to round up his enemies, who were scared and secretly fighting the empire (and there was no evidence to execute or arrest them because of it) and made them come public about their trechary.
Darth Vader made it as a way to make his enemies come public. Then, long after Starkiller died, the rebellion blew up.

In the Wii version, you could keep completing it over and over again, getting more and more powerful each time. I eventually got to the point of wiping out the emperor with one or two rounds of lightening. I recall screaming "NOW I HAVE UNLIMITED POWER!"

Plus, I'm a little sketchy about the show since we've never even heard of these characters. In the Force Unleashed, Starkiller dies and I don't think Disney has the stones to kill off their main characters on screen for continuity especially on a kids show.
Death's aren't shown in detail really, but they do happen.

This game is the best. It's a shame that there was never a third one where Galen Marek was able to come back to life even more powerful than he was before, with the ability to bend time and space and have the ability to heal himself and have immortality

This game looks so beautiful. This is what Star Wars is supposed to look like. As you get higher end graphics, you have to also have a higher level of detail that is proportional to the greater amount of pixels. The new Battlefront game still looks like shit because they have super high graphics, but almost no level of detail so it looks disproportional. The original 1980 graphics looked great because they were believable and fit the times. Using 1980 graphics today does not fit the times and looks stupid.

Love the kiss moment in the game but at least Starkiller died as a Jedi and a war hero he saved billions of lives that time on the Death Star he builded the Alliance to restore the Galactic Republic and killed a majority of the Galactic Empire troops didn’t he right guys a true hero warrior sacrifice he did indeed

This game was awesome but the second one not so much
The PS2 version is better. For one thing, the Emperor is the toughest boss in the game and Vader is a complete joke, which is more realistic. The Emperor also uses his lightsaber in the PS2 version.
