Hey Mike, what about if you use your physical silver as money instead of selling it, as in, what if you trade it for something else of value, say a car, or a PS5, or a house, do you have to pay capital gains on it then? If you've already answered this question previously could you point me to the video or text where you do? Thank you sir.

QUESTION: Hey Mike, thanks for another great video. I've been reading Alasdair Macleod lately who agrees with you that in the long term the only way for governments to secure their currency is by backing it with gold. If this happens and Gold is revalued to support the currency then gold will be pegged at a set price. Here's my question
    1) If gold is pegged do you think that Silver will become the main focus for PM speculators looking for investment growth? 2) If so how do you think this will affect its value compared to gold?
    Thanks
    Ric

Another tip: Invest in a cheaper gold claim / mine with good history documents. You pay the same amount as a Tesla, hire a mining management team and pay the expenses with the dividends you get from stocks. You get gold (and sometimes silver) with a FANTASTIC discount. Then you never sell these nuggets. Store the nuggets and then when the time comes you sell the nuggets to stores, completely tax-free. The risk-reward is amazing, but of course, it has to be a good mining claim/mine. That's the risk you need to take. So I recommend to give this a try if you're well educated, and buy normal coins at the same time. Cheers!

They don't care what you bought it for. The gain is what you make on the coin you sell. Like 25 dollar gain on a 25 dollar coin. If you keep a receipt from when you bought it, for example you buy it at 20 and sell it at 25 then your gain is now 5 instead of 25.

Ever notice that cell phone shops don't even worry bout keeping your phone sim? there's so little it's hardly worth it. I’m curious to hear what mike thinks about having Ammo as a commodity also. There are expected mass shortages for at least another year and if things get back that will only get worse. Brass cased ammo has a lot of brass content and there’s also lead cores in many FMJ rounds. At the very least it’s a store of raw metal but could be much more valuable if we go Venezuelan style hyper inflation and chaos

Coins are way much better than bars because bars are to valuable. Because they're too big and not suitable for dividing. So I couldn't buy regular stuff on weekly basis in any apocalyptic event.
Grams and ounces are best. I don't need gold nor kilogram of silver bar because it would be too precious for everyday use.

    Specific Weight (Density) of Gold=19.32g/cm3
    1 m3 gold weighs 19.300 kg
Let's consider Olympic Swimming Pool (OSP) 50 x 25 meters and 2 meter depth which makes 2500 m3. That is , the weight of gold filled in a OSP is 2500x19.320= 48.300.000 kg
That means if all the mined gold on the world is put into OSPs we can fill approximately " 4 " OSPs with all the Gold. (200 million kg divided by 48.3 million kg. ) . If known reserves in the earth are mined and whole gold of the earth are put into OSP , I believe it will not be more than 5 OSPs in the future , since reserves left are very little and difficult to get.
Result= We should appreciate the gold at our hand , since we dont have much as multiplied by paper gold manipulation.

If those metals basically run flat, your always still behind the eight ball The upside that I see, is that you've hedged against inflation/currency debasement, if your ratio is well calculated. If your prepared to accept a little more volatility, then Bitcoins is still your best bet, even with the tax.

What economic environment is one to anticipate when metals are really performing at their peak level and is it a rule thumb that we'll be able to buy far more then or is that more of a speculative take and it could really go either way?
