Love Ambrose and always thrilled to hear the Swing Era instrumentals; a real work-out for all the sections, especially brass.

Hi Colin, Here is the information you are looking for. The line up of the orchestra around this time would have been Tommy McQuater, Max Goldberg, Alfie Noakes (Trumpets) Lew Davis, Eric Breeze, Les Carew (Trombones) Danny Polo (Clt & Baritone) Chester Smith (Clt & Alto) Joe Jeanette (Alto & Flute) Billy Amstell (Clt & Ten) Bert Barnes (Piano) Jack Cooper (Guitar) Tiny Winters (Bass) Max Bacon (Drums) This is just a guess of the line up between July 1937 & Oct, 1938. Hope it is of some help.

The movie it is from is called "Kicking the Moon Around (Original title) release date. UK 30th, March 1938. The movie when it was re - released was known as Millionaire Merry-Go-Round. Also if you enjoy a little nostalgia I have a 30 min show in Hong Kong called Vintage Chart Toppers which deals with 78 recordings from the 1920's to the 1950's. with information on each disc and a story behind them. here is a link if you would care to have a listen. www.rthk.hk/radio/radio3/programme/vintage_chart_toppers/episode/777686
